All round brilliant experience. Lovely clean hotel rooms. Very friendly staff. Breakfast was really good and the pub was a nice setting.

Bed very comfortable. Had lovely meal on Friday evening staff friendly & helpful. No issue with air con.

Granted, we arrived a half hour before check in time. However rather than a "good day and welcome" the first words we got were "you can't check in yet". It was obvious that the hotel wasn't full. We asked if any rooms might be ready, we just got a shake of the head. Even if we were told that company policy was to stick to the check in time we would have understood. The young lady made us feel very unwelcome and uncomfortable. She had no idea how long we had travelled or if we were in a car or public transport. She made no offer to take our bag or have a drink whilst we waited for 30 minutes. Add to this poor quality food, for breakfast we got over cooked poached eggs served on burnt toast, in the evening the very tasty sounding mushrooms in garlic and covered in cheese turned out to be small tinned mushrooms in a thin liquid. Additionally we waited several minutes in the morning before anyone arrived to take details and show us to the breakfast table. In the evening the bar was unattended and we gave up waiting to get a drink. The bedroom was basic but appropriate for the cost, walls though has several large dirty masks and the carpet was stained.

Not a great stay, on arrival the room hadn't been cleaned properly, poo in the loo, I found a stick-on (used) eye lash in the bed and crumbs of some description across the carpet in various patches, in addition there was only 2 teabags available in the room meaninv only 1 drink for each of us!. We requested a double bed, but arrived to twin beds, the reception staff simply shrugged her shoulders and said, "oh, the request obviously hasn't been read, it only needed zipping together, oh well", which wasn't really the response i was expecting. Food was limited in the restaurant on the first evening, many items not available due to a busy service allegedly, though there was only 1 other couple in the pub at approximately 7.20pm. Staff did not appear friendly or welcoming, in fact we were left alone in the bar area whilst a subordinate went to find the relevant staff nember to compleye the check in process, though it's prudent to add, they were not rude either.

All the staff were very friendly. Bed & shower in the room were good and so positive feedback on both these very important needs. Room was dark because 2 of the 3 main ceiling lights had not had the lightbulbs replaced. We ate Sunday lunch in the restaurant which was very dissapointing because it was clearly a microwave heated meal and the quality was not worth the money paid. Having said all this, I would stay in the hotel again.

Decent rooms, staff very friendly and courteous but good was poor, especially considering the price for meals. I would definitely consider staying at the Lobster [Pot again but not eating there.

I booked a twin room and on arrival the room was a double. I asked to be moved to another room but none was available so they put a small put up bed in the room.This was very uncomfortable plus there was no headboard. Also there were no drawers in the room and the heating was totally inadequate.The first breakfast we had was barely warm and full of grease and the second breakfast wasn't much better.Overall the standard of the accommodation was very poor.I would not recommend staying here to friends or family.

I should have guessed when entering the the cold and empty bar area that things were not going to be the best. We had booked a couple of rooms and a table in the restaurant for a Christmas celebration, but the atmosphere was nothing like that - there was nobody behind the bar on x2 occasions we wanted to get a drink and we had to find a member of staff to serve us - Dinner was a complete fiasco! First I tried to order the set Christmas dinner - was told they did not have that, despite all the Christmas Menus, Posters and Website advertising for it! Next I tried ordering the Steak Pie - same answer, I then asked for the Sea Bass and was yet again informed it was off the menu - there then followed a bizzar debate on what exactly was on the menu (I was later informed by the Duty Manager that I had booked table in the Dog Friendly area and not the Festive Menu??? - How I made that 'mistake' I don't have a clue???) - finally ended up with a very un-festive and mediocre fish and chips and watching the occasional 'tumble weed' for entertainment

Please offer an option of 2 keys ar check-in. The room was fit for purposes, but our 18 month twins found dirt (shoelace hoop) on the floor and put it in their mouth. Just need a little tlc as its looking abit worn (paint). But overall it servied it purpose for an overnight stay..

The room was very clean, the lady at check in was very nice and helpful. Overall a very nice stay a bit of a walk into the centre of town but we like walking so it didn’t hinder our stay at all. Lovely big free car park too.
