"Staying at Citizen M is a lot like shopping at Aldi. There's some insider knowledge needed. The hotel is fairly high tech. The check in is mostly self service. You even make your own key card. You must use your key card to operate the elevator, which is great for security, but frustrating for first time travelers who aren't in on the secret. In your room, you use an ipad to operate your TV, lights, climate, and blinds. The room is small, but the lobby is huge and really nice — the kind of place...

"The room is very convenient for walking around Boston - and is right next to Boston University (noise). Unfortunately the noise from the city (sirens, traffic, yelling, etc) and light were very loud/noticeable. The room has only metal blinds and would greatly benefit from room darkening, heavy curtains to help eliminate some of that. Everything was clean. "Clean room, but parking if you have a rental car is not convenient. There are no elevators, as it’s in an old brownstone, so beware if you have a heavy luggage - you may be carrying it up 3 flights of stairs. Otherwise it was a nice room, comfy bed, and clean bathroom."

"The front desk staff were absolutely miserable, unhelpful, and unfriendly. I thought there would possibly be a difference between the night staff and morning staff, but that was not the case. This was extremely disappointing and we felt very uncomfortable and unwelcomed. We were also very excited to use the pool, it was heated and at a comfortable temperature but all of the sudden a giant red light started blinking in front of the pool maintenance room. This was alarming!!! Nothing was mentioned...

"Room large, bed comfortable. Decent shower. Wifi strong. Lobby bar and restaurant were closed both days of our stay which seems odd for a city centre hotel. Aircon unit in room sounds like a jet engine. Useful snack area for coffee etc, I just used it for water and ice, not worth the $35+ per day resort fee though...didn’tuse the pool."
