"I reserved this hotel because of the indoor pool, continental and the reviews gave it an 8.0. When i arrived i was told the pool was closed and then 15min later i was told the pool was open. The room was smaller than it looked in the pictures, the wifi wouldn't work, the air conditioner didnt work very well and the bed looked somewhat worn out. Then we took our kids down to the "open" pool and when we opened the door the chlorine would smack ypu in the face and after about 10min my kids got out saying there eyes were burning and my youngest said her tongue was burning and my eyes were very irritated to. So we got out the next day it seemed to have settled some but again we had to get out after about 10min. We tried again the next day but still the same. The day we checked out as we passed the pool door there was a sign on the door from the health department saying the pool was closed due to not having a certified pool operator and the chlorine level being very high and it was dated for the same day that we checked in. I talked to the manager and she stated that the sign had just been put up but i stated that the date on it was for the day that i checked in and she really didnt say much after that she just blamed it in other reason. So needless to say i wouldnt recommend staying here"

"It would be nice if they had a full time restaurant. The surrounding area has no restaurants and we had to Uber quite often. Their restaurant has very limited hours and is completely closed on a few days."

"We chose the Founders Inn and Spa for the location near the Scope Arena for the International Tattoo event. The grounds of the Founders Inn are lovely...especially the formal garden and the lake. This Hilton Tapestry hotel has the charm of traditional Virginia. The restaurants are very clean and inviting. The menu will change slightly on a daily basis, although most items are offered daily. The servers, especially Sophia and Joseph were very kind and accommodating! They added to the pleasant atmosphere of the dining areas. Rooms were clean and spacious. We LOVED the fireplace in our suite...came in handy on a couple of cool evenings. During our stay, myt husband and I had massages at the spa. They were wonderful. Spa environment was very relaxing and elegant. We will definitely return to the Founders Inn and Spa!"

"The property was not maintained well. The front door would not lock and the safety latch was cracked in half. The bathroom faucet handle came completely detached with each use. The towels were very small and not good quality. The pillows were terrible. Many of the fixtures and clothes hangers were rusted. Although a non-smoking facility, pot, cigarette, and cigar smoke were rampant on the grounds."
