"The property was well run by all the staff in the restaurant and the bar . Friendly and professional manner. Staff were helpful and have a good knowledge of the local area. Room was spacious and yet cosy, and was cleaned daily. Property is in great location on the main road in Street. Plenty of free car parking at the rear . Loved the outside seating area . Will definitely be returning. "

"The Staff were fantastic - couldn't be more helpful. Room was ok, very clean, and had a good night's rest. Lovely meal and had a nice wander around the village. Very convenient off the A303 for a break on our trip to Cornwall. Highly recommend."

"English breakfast is excellent. Staff is very friendly. The shower screen is only half way so water sprays outside to the wall and floor. The firedoor upstairs at the top of the stairs is kept open and the firedoor along the corridor doesn't close properly. These need attention for fire regulations. "

"we had a great stay at the Red Lion. Amazing food. Very comfortable bed and good quality linens. But I think the staff was the key to all this success they were lovely and helpful. If only one thing I would improve is the water pressure in the bathroom. There isn't any :)"

"Easy to find and had plenty of parking when I arrived. Communication for check in and check out was very good. The ensuite room was great - very clean, nice temperature, and very well-appointed. The lodge does not offer breakfast or dining but is just a 5 minute walk into the city centre. Overall it was great value - can highly recommend and would return. "

"We had a great welcome and were shown to our fabulous room. Spacious and well decorated, it had a great spread of tea and coffee with real milk in the fridge! "A simple and modest country village pub with very friendly owners who took great pains to welcome and look after me. Arriving late, they had kept a good supper for me. The bedroom was large, clean and nicely old fashioned. The old church nearby chimed through the night but did not wake me. As I left before breakfast, the landlords left me a sandwich and apple. In no way smart and modern but with a very warm and relaxing atmosphere. "
