Deluxe junior suite was beautiful! Adults really should stick with Westin Club pool. Best food was at Faisinella. Bamboo Asian was really bad. Caracola has most diverse menu and pretty good. Bathrooms in restaurant area were shameful. Sunset at beach incredible, but local vendors can be annoying. Overall still a great resort!

The resort was great and had a lot of amenities. My favorite parts were the access to the beach and the restaurants. All of the food was amazing and they had a lot of options. The service was amazing. The staff were all very helpful and nice.

From the moment we arrived at the hotel, the staff were super unfriendly & not helpful. They did not make eye contact. We asked several staff members where we could find towels & they could only point towards the massive pool. The beach is completely full of people selling things like nothing I’ve ever seen & the vendors are very aggressive in soliciting you. The pool is extremely uninviting with cups and trash left around the pool and the bathroom unusable because it was so dirty. This hotel does not meet normal Westin standards. Thankfully we were able to move to the W next door where everything was wonderful, clean & the staff were amazing and friendly. Rosa made the moving process extremely difficult since she was trying to charge us twice after we were told we would get a full refund for the Westin. Luckily, it was straightened out by the helpful staff at the W. During our stay at the W, we ran into guests of the Westin who were buying day passes at the W for all of the same reasons as noted above - right down to the towels,

They advise that golf is included. It IS NOT. the main dinning doesn't open until 8am. If you want a coffee before 8am. You have to pay for it. The all inclusive drinks are watered down. The bus ride from airport is long, bad roads, and heavy traffic.

We just came back from our trip this morning! What a great time we had my only complaint is the way to the beach.. we know is a public beach but staff from the hotel should help maintain the cleanliness on the way from the hotel to the beach.. unfortunately is surrounded by outsiders that are offering their services which I think is a bit too much but is just uncomfortable to walk to the beach with dirty bottles and other stuff . If that’s illegal for these people to offer their business right out of the hotel just keep calling the police so they don’t keep harassing the hotel clients.

We stayed at the Westin Club adult-only area, which is definitely worth the upgrade. The family pool was loud. The adult-only pool was quieter and the swim-up bar was great with tasty pina coladas and margaritas. Coffee and cocktails across campus tasted watered down. Faisanella restaurant is exclusive to the adult-only area for breakfast and lunch, so it was nice to have a quieter option there. The rooms were beautiful and cool even on the hottest days. The beds were so comfortable. It was awesome to see so many animals (monkeys, iguanas, coatis, etc.). The staff was really sweet and helpful. They offered rides across campus and gave tips on experiences. We booked ziplining and Cloud Forest through Xplora which was pricey but great. If you’re ziplining, spring for the far away courses like Monteverde (3-4 hours away one way, but so much greener, higher, faster). The food was pretty good, like Mitra for breakfast buffet, Bamboo or Spirula for reservation-only dinner (you have to book at 8 a.m. day-of), Cauri for tapas with a sunset view. The beach near the resort is small and shell-y and has a couple vendors. Walk past the rocks to the right, and over the trail to the long stretch of beach. Much better view. Sunscreen is $50 at the market and $35 at the main desk. We booked a private airport ride via nexus tours which wasn’t great, but that’s not the hotel’s fault. It would be cool if the hotel shuttle ran at multiple times. Overall really happy we stayed here!

Beautiful resort with outstanding service, excellent food and beautiful scenery. Clean, well stocked rooms. Incredible pool!Would highly recommend!

Great beach. Coarse shell sand but still ok on bare feet. Not overly busy and right off the resort. Waves not really big enough to boogie board on but good for smaller kids to play. Pool is very nice with lots of lounging areas. Entertainment area with pool tables, ping pong and fooseball - great for kids/teens. Spacious and quiet rooms with great amenities. Animals on the resort are a highlight (iguanas, monkeys, raccoons). Food was excellent with nice variety and good quality. Staff was helpful and friendly. No complaints other than our check in was very slow.

Overall a very nice property but it could take things to the next level for the price. For example, my family of four was always only given 3 towels every day even when we consistently asked for 4. Dinner reservations were difficult to get and impossible for our larger friend group who met us there. Nightlife was a little lacking. There were activities but nothing that exciting. The sports bar shut down the audio on the night of the final four basketball games for a county music performer when everyone in the area just wanted to watch the games. Staff was overall friendly, but we’ve been to other resorts where it felt more genuine. Again, overall we can’t complain. We had a wonderful vacation. Just some minor things that stood out.

This is a beautiful 5-star property that, unfortunately, delivers more of a 2–3 star experience in key areas. The positives first...the grounds are beautiful, with abundant wildlife and a great beach. The seafood restaurant stood out, thanks to an excellent server, and one of the shuttle drivers was truly 10/10 and made a great impression. Where things fell short was primarily the service and food experience. The food itself was okay, and the “market”/buffet concept, where you order and wait for fresh preparation, worked fine in theory. However, the waitstaff was consistently forgetful, and it often took multiple requests to get even basic items. The biggest issue was around the pool experience. Finding water or food (beyond pizza) was surprisingly difficult. You couldn’t order food directly from the poolside bars, and compared to other all-inclusive resorts, especially in Mexico, there was very little proactive service. Poolside waitstaff was rarely present, which made the experience feel lacking for a resort at this level. Overall, the setting is incredible, but there’s a clear opportunity to improve service consistency and elevate the food and beverage experience to match the property itself.
