The room was spacious and clean . comfortable bed with everything we needed. Staff were friendly and let us check in early. Location was excellent, right in the heart on the centre.

Arrived at hotel to terrible stench which I am guessing was a drainage smell. This smell continued up to the third floor. Thankfully we could not smell it in our room. We did not go for breakfast as the thought of sitting down to eat in the smelly environment would have made us sick. Apart from that, hotel is very central and room was clean & comfortable.

I was informed that breakfast was not included. However, when I looked into the breakfast room, there was little on offer. More importantly for myself, there was no coffee available - only hot water.

This hotel does have some superb benefits not least the excellant location: whiich is in the city centre and 2 mins walk from Newport train station. The matrress was so comfy that it was easy to get to sleep (bar Friday, see below) The room was very spacious, a genorouss size with an accessable toilet. This was just what i asked for with handy hand rails in the bathroom. The staff were mostly friendy and polite, however as i found out on morning of departure, the front desk is not always manned, so help from hotel staff can be hit and miss. Unfortunatly the emergancy call button beside the bed was hanging loose from fitting, and the leg on the bottom of the toilet hand rail fell of when trying to lift thiss up. Housekeeping did not put a protective sheet over matress, therefore i had to sleep on the matress itself. The noise from the night club, wich was outside my winow, was intense. As a result i did not get to sleep until 4am., i later discoveredd that the outer sash window was open with no way for me to close it. Finally there was a section of crpet on the main stairs that was peeling of, this is a major trip hazard and i can not believe was left in this state.

Very close to station & city centre but surprisingly quiet . Checked in in afternoon then not returning until after midnight was worried if key didn't open outside door wouldn't be able to get in but key was fine. The breakfast very basic but for overall price still cheap if you have to buy breakfast elsewhere

Breakfast was ok, but it would have been nice to have more variety. The coffee machine only dispensed hot water, leaving instant coffee as only available option. It would have been great to have a coffee machine that brewed fresh coffee or at least a simple coffee maker with whole beans. However, there were hot food options available for a traditional British breakfast, which I found to be very nice. The hotel is conveniently located near the train and bus stations, as well as a shopping center. The hotel itself is Ok. The room size is adequate, but the quality of the mattress leaves much to be desired; it is quite soft and not very comfortable. Nevertheless, considering the price, this hotel is a good option due to its strategic location and the availability of facilities to heat your food if you choose to bring meals. The internet speed is also quite good, and the staff is exceptional—very friendly and always ready to assist. Thank you!

Room was very spacious. Bath was a bonus. Parking next door in NCP carpark was only £7.95 for 24 hours. Literally on Newport high street next to all the shops. Only one complaint, the breakfast could have been hotter

Sheets hadn't been changed the whole time i was there. But everything else was good and clean. Didn't appreciate someone settling the smoke alarm off at 4am. good

Never in a million years will I stay here again

I suggest avoiding that hotel if anyone needs to stay over in this area for a few reasons. 1. It's well situated if you're going for a night out, there are clubs and bars just around the corner which start at 10:30ish and you get the low base sounds even up on the third floor. 2. The shower is as powerful as a hose pipe if someone kinks it, but this is good considering the shower drains incredibly slowly, turning into a foot spa after a couple of minutes. 3. The room cleanliness is somewhat to be desired with hairs on the pillows, and in the bed itself but worst of all in the foot of the bed what appears to be flakes of skin. Needless to say, I slept with coat covering a pillow and used the remaining dry towels as a blanket.

Annual Railway trip to South Wales

Excellent service from the staff always pleasant with a smile. Good choice for breakfast which is included in the price. Rooms kept clean and comfortable beds. Easy access to the railway station which is about a 5/10 minute walk away. There is a NCP car park nearby although we did not use it as we had a rail rover ticket. Overall a very good and well positioned hotel to base yourself from. We have stayed here a number of years now and always find it good value for money and you are well looked after.
