"Hollins Hall has been a great and grand hotel in the past I think. Does it need a revamp? Absolutely! That said, the bed was comfy. It caters for the golfing fraternity mostly it seems. Where Hollins Hall isn't as grand as the name might imply, we do stay there often as it's close to family we visit. "Large free car park. Staff were super friendly and soon sorted out some room problems. Dining area has been recently refurbished with a pleasant outlook over the canal. Corridor areas and the rooms we stayed in, although clean, large and functional seemed a bit tired and in need of a refurb. Powerful shower. Lift doesn't go to all floors. "The hotel and lake setting is beautiful. The spa is too expensive when you are limited to only two hours when it is extremely quiet."

Reception was not up to speed with our bookings as we had pre-paid for everything but when we checked out they got mixed up and printed bill for full amount. Until we very politely informed them.
