"The reason for 3 stars is for housekeeping. The first day we returned to our room to find beds made but the room unvacuumed, towels were not resupplied, neither was the coffee packets. Same for the 2nd day, but the room was vacuumed. Again we had to request coffee packets, clean glasses, TP and towels. Short staffed or inexperienced housecleaning. Also the ice machine was broken."

"The bad reviews seem hugely overblown to me. This is an older building, but my room was sparkling clean and the staff were so kind and helpful. Most of the wear I saw was in the common hallways (the carpet there is long gone). It's turning into a Marriott, which made me kind of sad--I stayed in a lot of the cheap hotels outside ORD this trip, and this is far and away the best one. Want to single out Shirley, the van driver, who is so kind and helpful. The food nearby is also plentiful and really good; there's a grocery store around the corner, and an excellent Chinese restaurant."
