"the place is fairly new looking loved the room set up disappointed w the pool... water was green:( had to travel to hotel next door to have breakfast i assumed the price for the room included breakfast, Paid the 15 euros, translates to 25 dollars canadian, breakfast was not worth the value, there are several supermarkets nearby w breakfast at a significantly cheaper price."

"The people at the reception desk were very organized to check us in and take our credit card but were clearly negligent to advise us that the air conditioning was not functional in our room. Their response to our complaint was "the technician is supposed to come and we'll let you know". Later that afternoon they told us the the air conditioning won't be repaired for our stay. "Absolutely loved this hotel. Huge, spacious rooms in a gorgeous 500 year old building. Right in the centre of historic Old Town Braga, within walking distance of everything. Staff were helpful and friendly and service was impeccable. Would stay here again without hesitation."

"This was our first visit to Portugal, and Porto Palácio Hotel gave us a wonderful first impression. The entrance is beautiful and grand, and check-in was quick and seamless. We arrived early, so the hotel stored our luggage and invited us to enjoy a complimentary drink and nuts at the rooftop bar while we waited. "Not a 4 star hotel. Super dated old hotel and they don’t even try to maintain anything. When something breaks down, they don’t even try to fix it. We came into a hot room and the AC was not blowing, and they tried to gaslight me. Make me feel like I’m crazy. But we booked two rooms and the other room the AC was blowing just fine. They made it seem like we didn’t know how to use an AC and they did not change the room until the third time we asked. The balcony area looked really gross. Everything...

"The amazing part: Gorgeous place. Very historic. Super friendly staff. Close but not too close to everything. Loved the Virtudes garden above the hotel. Also best bed we’ve slept in in a long time. The constructive criticism: The very thin walls between rooms was an unexpected frustration in such a nice place. Our fourth floor room was also right below the roof deck and the dragging around of chairs at midnight closing got quite loud. Buffet breakfast is good but not worth the high price tag....
