"The building and room were excellent. I parked off street and was steps from my room. I ordered a pizza and the delivery was smooth! The bed was amazing and I loved the sheets! The bathroom is upgraded and nicely done. I had an appointment early and the Villa is centrally located in San Clemente and the traffic was good too! I enjoyed my stay and will return! Christy B"

"Parking in front of motel door. There was lots of freeway noise during the night. I probably noticed because I'm a light sleeper. Everything else was great. Clean room and comfortable bed."

"The location is the best there is! Having the option to go up the stairs to eat and drink as well is great after a long day of travel. You’re so close to the downtown area and walking is easy in this area. The room was incredibly spacious and had every amenity imaginable. All in all a great stay!"

They did give us another room after about 40 mins later but I had to go down stairs to find out what was going on. The attitude of the one woman behind the desk was not caring at all. "The name “Hotel Avenida” is a scam. This is actually a Rodeway inn renamed as a hotel. The front attendant told me that the owner changed the name from Rodeway inn to Hotel Avenida because it would be”better for business”. I don’t even know if that legal but might as well book a motel 6 if you’re looking to book a cheap motel. The rooms weren’t new either the pictures are deceiving. "We had reserved a room with two queen beds. We went to our room to find a swamp cooler next to the TV and a large fan near the entry. The AC in the room was not functional. The swamp cooler was loud and largely ineffective. We went to the front desk to get another room. The desk clerk told us that no other two queen rooms were available (nor kings). The best she could do was two doubles. As I’m 6’4” a double is about a foot short, so I asked for a refund. The clerk told us that was...

"Use a map to familiarize yourself with the area. I was close to the beach without realizing how close."

"Occasional bugs would show up in the unit. No weatherstripping on the bottom of the entrance door so there’s about a quarter inch opening at the bottom so nothing stopping the bugs from outside from coming in. Unit is very basic, bed was comfortable."
