Of all the places I've stayed in Portugal, I love Cascais the best, it has everything, beaches , long walking promenades, hiking, lots of restaurants to choose from and nice shops, very clean, safe and close to Lisbon. I want to live here!

Although i live abroad nowadays, i know the area very well and its fantastic, if a bit overcrowded thanks to the latest tourism success. Around Cascais you have Estoril, Sintra and Guincho, with Lisbon a pleasant 40 min coastal train ride.

We really enjoyed José Avillez's restaurant in Cascais, overlooking the ocean with fabulous food called Maré and would highly recommend it for a late lunch or an early supper because then you won't have to share a t with the crowds!
