"The bathroom was not clean there was 3 pillows for a couple which is strange. There was no fridge and the room was a bit tired. Breakfast was ok, no granola no berries or topping for porridge. There was a bit of dried out rocked not oil for it. No fresh breads and coffee wasn’t nice. Also we could hear our neighbours who were noisy late into the night."

"The bar was reasonbly priced and on Saurday night karaoke was on. The room was clean and tea/coffee facilities in room. The location is great. Had no complaints and will be returning in May."

"The pub was fantastic all the staff and locals made us feel very welcome even bringing a sausage and a bit of steak out for our dog. The food was amazing all top quality and the room was incredible, double walk in shower and stand alone bath. Just what was needed after a fab day walking Pendle top!! We will defo be back"

"The room was clean, comfortable and well maintained with good decor. The bathroom had a powerful shower and enough room around the basin for your wash bags. Lighting in the bathroom is always an issue for me (!) so as usual I had my mirror on the window sill in search of natural light. We ate in the pub on the first night, sharing a platter. Good menu. "Room was spotless and appeared to have been recently decorated. Unfortunately there were cracks in the sink and the hotel generally looks a little tired. The hotel staff were amazing … all so friendly, helpful and welcoming. Particularly Aziz at breakfast and the wonderful bartender Mal. He couldn’t do enough for us, moving furniture around and asking us if we wanted any particular music to be played. He really went above and beyond to make my 89 year old mum’s evening. "

"We had a great two night stay at Farington Lodge. The room was very large and clean. Staff were great and helpful. The breakfast choice was very good. We ate in the restaurant and the food was excellent. My starter could have been a main course, it was so big. The roast main course was fantastic, with lots of roast beef. The grounds are good for a little stroll. Recommended for a break with a bit of class."

"I love this hotel and I'm sad not to be able to give it 5 stars but it's sadly suffering from neglect. I know times are hard for hospitality but it could be so much nicer with a few changes. For instance why have a cupboard obviously meant for a fridge but not have a fridge? Why have fake grass on the balcony which gets full of water and very unpleasant to walk on? "Overall excellent hotel, little dissapointed that the family rooms are 2 double beds so kids have to sleep together which is a bit of a recipe for arguments and the beds are VERY firm, which is not for me but maybe great for some people. Room was clean although not much storage. Nice bathroom and toiletries. Breakfast was excellent with a good selection. Overall really enjoyed our stay. "

"The place is great, very quiet and peaceful. My only complain is that the furniture and carpet in my room was old and that was an issue for my mother in law who had an allergy problem, and we could feel the sprungs on our mattress. The rest was great, the swimming pool, hot tub, all great. "

"The inside of the hotel is far nicer than it looks from the outside. We booked a dog friendly family room. The room was clean, the beds comfy. The bathroom was well fitted and the shower was really poweful, which was pleasing. Overall very happy. The breakfast was quite nice, with good quality ingredients. Two 'even better if' s'. 1) The coffee in the morning was not good. It was dispensed out of a big urn. Not great quality/choice and not hot. 2) squeeky floorboards. I would stay there again. "
