Not a hotel, motel, or B&B, and a bit of a confusing check in process, but perfect for a one-night sleep while travelling. The owner was super pleasant and accommodating with our late check in. With limited options in Chapleau, I recommend staying at the Crestview Guest House if you're an adult looking for a souped-up, private, hostel pad.

The room was clean, comfortable and surprisingly modern. I had difficulty finding the place and then when I got there, there was no one there. I phoned the number on the door and was told to go to a restaurant back downtown to check in. I paid extra to upgrade to a room with a private bathroom. However, once all that was sorted I had a nice stay and the restaurant turned out to be good too. The staff were outstanding.

I booked this place on December 21st 2025 from my journey from Toronto to Saskatchewan. The highways were closed that day and I was stuck in Chapleau, ON. Was on the road since 4am and at 2:55pm (jiet before check in time, I booked 1 night. I got a notification 5 minutes later that highways have reopened so I ended up continuing my journey. I tried to cancel at 3:05pm the same day but no response. I left voicemail, email and even contacted a specialist at expedia. They told expedia that they are not going to refund at all. Crazy! Took my $101.54!

The facility was great if you want a room house but when we booked on Expedia we thought we were booking Executive Suite so we would not have stayed here. Was clean but you share a washroom with the other rooms. The room we had was very small.

YUCK!

Yuck. Shared everything, including bathrooms. Bedroom was and incredibly old bed and frame which squeaked just by sitting on it. Key was missing from key box when we arrived. While I realize Chapleau is a small town. But just YUCK

Booked this as one of the few properties on Expedia for the area. Reached out twice, pre-arrival, for clarity on check in. Never happened. Arrived at 2, and check in wasn't till 3, even though the place wasn't close to being full. At check in, was charged more than the reserved price. Messaged the property again, using the Expedia site so there was a record, and never heard back. Don't trust this place. Stay somewhere else.

I came by Snowmobile from Ottawa, and started here in my way to thunder bay. It was really easy to get to from the trails. Great price, great staff. Great place.

The check-in was not at the location given to me at registration. After calling and spoke to Paul, was redirected to a restaurant where I was informed that instead of a queen bed with attached bath, I had a twin bed with a SHARED bath, as indicated to them by Expedia. Only after showing my expedia app trip, did they relent, saying they would upgrade to an executive suite. The water taps did not work. I immediately cancelled my following trip with this vendor.
