The room was spacious and clean. The bathroom was somewhat dated. The staff was very responsive, and the hotel was within walking distance of the Obama Library and the Museum of Science and Industry. The Hyde Park area of Chicago is lovely. The hotel was reasonably priced.

My stay at the Chicago Lake Shore Hotel was good! The outside of the facility looks to be in rough shape but once you step inside the rooms they are updated and very clean!!! I would stay here again for the price. Of they could update/renovate the outside this place would be 10/10!!!

Low budget place. Bed was okay, but everything else was spare and no frills. Noisy area, right off of Lake Shore Drive. Looks like a run-down motel from the outside. The closed and boarded-up restaurant next door was pretty emblematic of the area. Chose this place because of its proximity to Hyde Park and because of free on-site parking (a rarity in Chicago unless you want to pay through the nose). As it turned out, we felt safer driving to Hyde Park.
