Location:
The location is walkable and convenient for getting around Chicago, although the hotel is hard to identify from the outside. Even several of our Uber drivers were confused trying to find it.
Staff & Hospitality:
Unfortunately, the staff did not feel welcoming, friendly, or engaging. The overall atmosphere from check-in to moving through the hotel felt cold, and no one really greeted us when coming or going.
Amenities & Fees: There is a daily “resort/amenity” fee, but the hotel is not a resort and what it covers is extremely basic — a bottle of water in the room and spotty Wi-Fi. Nothing about this felt like a true amenity. Room Quality:The décor in the guestrooms did not match the beautiful lobby or restaurant area. Our room felt cold and oddly designed. The feng shui was off, the drawers in the closet had an odd smell, and the overall space did not feel comfortable or inviting. There also weren’t enough washcloths and the room layout just felt impractical. Rooftop Breakfast Experience:
We were charged a non-refundable deposit to make a breakfast reservation, which gave the impression it would be a high-demand experience. When we arrived, the place was completely empty. The service felt indifferent, several coffee drink ingredients were “out,” and the sugar caddy they handed me had what looked like dried spill residue and dead flies in it. When I pointed it out, they removed the fly and handed the same container back. The food was disappointing.
