We had a great time staying here. Neither one of us had been to Cleveland before and it was a perfect location close to great restaurants and activities. The house is beautiful and the area around it is as well. James was a great host and fun to talk to during our amazing breakfasts. We definitely will be back.

Exceptional, far better than a hotel. Factor in food & parking and it's worth it. The host Jim is very nice, & an excellent breakfast cook and good company in the morning. Spacious, comfortably decorated, cozy. Very conveniently located. A charming experience for those wanting something more homely than your dime-a-dozen hotel.

Jim is a wonderful host! His dog and cat are so personable and polite too. The house is comfy inside and out. Breakfast was as delicious as the table setting was beautiful. A hidden gem!

Perfectly located to all major attractions (zoo, aquarium, science center, rock and roll hall of fame, west side market, botanical gardens, etc). Jim is an amazing innkeeper (and a wonderful cook!). Room was beautiful and quiet! A great place for a Cleveland getaway!

You won't be sorry picking The Clifford House for a very personal experience with a fantastic host. All of Ohio City is within walking distance, & Jim knows the area like the back of his hand - there is something for anyone's preferences there. We had always stayed in downtown Cleveland before, & it seemed like we were Uber-ing to Ohio City all the time, so our decision to actually stay in Ohio City this time was a no-brainer, & Jim's B&B was the best choice for an accommodation - the amenities were out of this world (blueberry muffins - mmmmmm). We would/will stay there again without hesitation. Thanks, Jim!

So Much Charm!!

The Clifford House and its incredible host were perfect. The car and dog add so much character to a place that you wouldn’t think needed any more! The location was walkable to a great little district of restaurants, a cool market and breweries. If you love B&Bs, stay here!

This is a quaint B&B. Jim the owner is so friendly and accommodating. Our clothes got soaked in the rain and he let us dry them in his dryer. Lovely dog and cat to greet you. A home away from home and the breakfast is awesome. The neighborhood is amazing and worth the trip. A home away from home!

Charming nest in Historic Ohio City

We were in Cleveland for the Shinto exhibition at the Cleveland Museum of Art. We chose the Clifford House because it looked charming and was well priced. We were delighted to find that it is in the historic Ohio City district, surrounded by interesting architecture and in a center of foodie culture. Near the West End Market. The landlord, Jim, is a fount of information about the area. He recommended Le Petit Triangle, a wonderful little French restaurant a few blocks away. We were only two, but the little apartment would have worked for a small family with older children. Terrific full breakfast. Would definitely stay again.

Convenient and excellent location.

We truly enjoyed our stay. The location was perfect, near many restaurants and breweries. The breakfast was phenomenal. We felt very welcomed!

Just remember to duck!

Everything was great, We were looking for something close the the Westside Market, and this was maybe 2-3 blocks away...easily walkable. The streets do get a bit dark at night, but the area was safe enough for that not to be a concern, crime-wise. There's a large supermarket nearby in case you happen to forget a few essentials, or want to grab a quick snack. And of course, how can you object to having a surrogate dog and cat when on vacation? The larger room at the top is near the peak of the roof, so make sure to watch your head near the edges. I had one "close encounter" that way, and remembered to watch myself the the rest of the stay.

Old school and excellent

If you're looking for an old school, real, authentic, and great experience of Americana this is it! If you are visiting Cleveland, which is also the same as i said, this is the place to stay and it's in walking distance of just about everything you need. Jim the host is extremely informative and is great for conversations and, an excellent cook!

Great B&B

Great B & B. Lots to walk to in the area. Over-all had to lower the star due to 3rd floor room with no elevator.
