My room was clean and spacious. Twin in the separate wing. Food in the restaurant was awful at dinner and they’d be better serving basic English food rather than attempting foreign cuisine. It was adequate for my purpose of dropping off a teen at university. Parking was great although very full, WiFi good and location central. All being said I’d stay again when I visit the university.

The manager tried to charge us twice and then the room smelt musty and damps stained carpet and worn furniture. Didn’t stay, went home the minute we saw the room. Wasn’t anyone on reception when we left. AVOID

This was rather an interested stay as the place itself is a bit historical, so if your are not into this type of places, not bother to go. I found it to be very interesting. The rooms was decent and the breakfast was great. Staff was very helpful every step of the way. The in-house Portuguese restaurant is a MUST. Their wings was so good. Make sure to try them..:P

Lovely old property on the edge of town. Front Desk staff on arrival were OK but not hugely communicative (morning team were much better). Same with the bar staff although the prices were pretty good. The room was old but clean and tidy. And HOT, although we were in a UK heatwave at the time. They do provide a fan which helped a bit. Overall a decent place to stay and would stay again if passing by that way again.

Really interesting building if you're into history but they need to re-open the restaurant for lunch and evening meals and the bar needs extended hours for residents. The breakfast was well cooked and of a decent size. The room was adequately clean and of a good size. It's easy to find and good amount of parking.
