The door keys did not work. The main door had obviously been broken into with a crowbar. The heavy duty metal door frame was heavily bent inward and the door latch parts were exposed to the outside. The deadbolt was broken, would not lock. The refrigerator was dead. It had power but was not cold. There was something that looked like remnants of vomit spray on the bedroom door and it was chunky. The headboard in the master bedroom looked like it was used for a cat-scratching board. The upholstery was shredded and flaking off. The couch in the living room looked like it was a roadside freebee. Needless to say the room looked nothing like the pictures on the website. The place smelled like a fraternity had a beer party in it and someone got alcohol sick. The Sonesta's cleaning service obviously tried to clean it, but the alcohol/puke smell was still lingering. All the windows were open when we got in the room too, probably because of the smell. Some of the frames were broken and the windows would not easily close. The final straw was when we saw baby roaches crawling around.
We stayed long enough to see all this and moved on. I would not suggest Sonesta Simply Suites. This particular room needs be condemned.
