"This was my second stay at River Mountain Lodge and I love its unbeatable location — just one block from both Main Street and the gondola. We booked a premium condo for our three-night stay and really enjoyed unwinding in the dry sauna, steam room and hot tub at the end of the day. "This is an old hotel (1930s) in the mountain town of Fairplay Colorado. Quaint, a little rustic, but our stay (1 night) was quite pleasant. Everything worked fine and the breakfast (an additional $15) was delicious - fresh fruit, a choice of freshly cooked egg dishes, meats and pastry. In a throwback to an earlier time, no TVs in the rooms (no hardship for us). Staff are delightful. We will stay there when we pass that way again "

"The room was very charming, with a private balcony. The second floor lobby was very comfortable for eating and lounging. The hotel supplies hot water for tea or hot chocolate at all times, plus all plates, bowls, mugs, and silverware, and with a fridge and microwave in the room, it was very easy to prepare simple meals there. It's an easy walk to Main Street or to the Peak 8 gondola."

"Great location and amenities, just had a lot of elevator issues while we were there. They’re in the process of repairing but it made it difficult to lug gear, otherwise can’t beat being steps from the lift and anything else you need!"
