Not bad...but not memorable

Over all, the hotel was acceptable, especially considering its affordable price during the summer season. Compare to must of the other comparably priced hotels in the area, this is the best bet...but sometime you do ask yourself whether this hotel has the "Golden Tulip" standard. The best part of the stay was the breakfast, which is large, and has many choices to offer.

Nice balconies overlooking the sea

The location was great no we loved our balconies overlooking the Black Sea. We are a family of four who had been traveling throughout Romania with quite a lot of luggage. The only problem we encountered was the fact that there was not enough space in the room to put the suitcases. We did enjoy the restaurant and music. Overall we had a very pleasant stay.

Très mauvaise surprise

Le service est vraiment a déploré. Lors du check-in les réceptionnistes maitrisent mal la langue anglaise et sans articuler, ce qui est difficilement compréhensible, sans parlé de l'amabilité. Nous avons voulu profiter du bar de la piscine, on nous a demandé de payer un accès à auteur de 25 lei par personnes. Le lendemain lors du petit déjeuner, les responsables de salle sont présents à titre décoratif. Les taches au sol ne les alertes pas, dangereux pour les clients, risque de glissades, 15min pour faire intervenir une femme de ménage. Suite à cela nous avons décidés d'aller à la plage, le but de ce séjour, pleins de chaises longues libres, des matelas à disposition, nous avons déplacés deux matelas suite à quoi nous avons appris que les matelas étaient payant (15 lei/unité) nous nous installons sur les transats sans matelas, il a fallu une bonne demi-heure pour que le personnel revienne à la charge afin de nous demander de payer 15ei/u de transat. J'ai alors demandé si cela était une blague, il nous a menacé d'appeler la sécurité si nous ne voulons pas payer. Il nous a suggéré de nous installer au sol (dans le passage) puisqu'il n'y a pas de place ailleurs. De plus le sable n'est pas entretenu, des mégots, des déchets au sol. Pour un séjour à 137€ (deux nuits), sans le déplacement c'est inadmissible. Tout est payant! De plus nous ne pouvons pas nous faire comprendre, où ils ne veulent pas nous entendre. (La barrière de la langue est à leur avantage)

Au calme pour un moment relax

Situé loin du centre au bord de la plage il y a meme des soirees organiseés .Dommage que l on ne puisse pas prendre le petit dejeuner dans la chambre

See the Black Sea

Staff went out of their way to make our experience extremely pleasant. From the front desk to the bar area, they did everything within their power to make our two day stay an experience we will not soon forget.

Man bezahlt für hoteleigenen Pool!

Also vorab das Hotel ist nicht schlecht und ich kenne Rumänien sehr gut. Abendessen dort schlecht und es isst dort auch kaum einer zu Abend.Abendunterhaltung zu laut und ziemlich schlecht. Rezeption könnte zuvorkommender sein. Das Schlimmste war, dass man für den Pool 25 Lei am Tag bezahlen musste. Das habe ich auch nur einmal gemacht, weil seit Tagen Badeverbot wegen stürmischer See und mein Kind 5 ist. Kinder unter 7 bezahlen nicht, frech aber war dass deswegen um ein Handtuch für Nein Kind betteln musste, denn "Handtücher sind nur für zahlende Gäste". Die Zimmer sind gut mit modernem Flachbildfernseher und vielen Satellitensendern, allerdings keine deutschsprachigen, was mich nicht gestört hat, da ich Rumänisch verstehe und nicht zum Fernsehen in Fenster Urlaub fahre. Die Hauptgründe warum nicht empfehlen würde: -Man kann nicht mal abends im Hotel chillen, wenn man einen Abend faul sein will wegen Sachen siehe oben und kein Zimmerservice. Einfach nicht mal gemütlich zm abends an Bar Drink zu nehmen, da nicht einladend, leer und laut -man bezahlt sogar für hoteleigene Liegen am Strand -Rezeption kannte Ausflugangebote nicht, die überall um Hotel ausliegen von anderer Firma, die ich selbst anrufen sollte. -man könnte Animation anbieten ich weiß das mag nicht jeder und ich auch nicht immer aber un so einem großen Hotel bietet es sich an gerade für die Kinder denn sonst kann ich auch in ein Boutique Hotel gehen Entgegen anderer Aussagen ist das Frühstück gut mit viel Auswahl

A good hotel right on the beach

I give the hotel a five not because is perfect, but because the ratio price and comfort is right there. For a family with kids its great, in and out to the beach, the restaurant is also by the beach, the food is what to expect for the price, makes the kids happy. The staff was accommodating , if you come with a positive attitude, the'll keep it that way! I have not encountered any problems! I 'm a business man, stayed at five star all the way to a motel. In the end is the ratio, money spent vs services! This one is all right!

Super-Meerblick

Das Hotel befindet sich im nördlichen Teil von Mamaia. Zum Zentrum geht man ca. 25 Minuten. Das ist zwar ein wenig zu laufen, aber dafür ist es im nördlichen Teil ruhiger. Die Lage am Strand ist die beste im ganzen Ort. Wenn man Zimmer mit Meerblick bucht, gibt es meiner Ansicht nach kein besseres Hotel im ganzen Ort. Die Zimmer blicken voll aufs Meer - besser geht es nicht. Von den anderen Zimmern würde ich allerdings eher abraten, denn der Preisunterschied ist nicht besonders groß. Man darf in Mamaia nichts tolles von den Hotels erwarten. Man befindet sich halt in Rumänien. Die Zimmer sind relativ klein, aber in einem guten Zustand. Der Service im Hotel ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Sicher ist das Vega Hotel von der Ausstattung her besser, aber dafür auch deutlich teurer und der Blick ist nicht so gut. Ich kann dieses Hotel vorbehaltlos empfehlen, sofern man Zimmer mit Meerblick bucht. Insbesondere das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmt.

Terrible Recepcionist

I have been that hotel with my wife. The beach in front of the hotel is not sandy. Restaurant is not good for breakfast and lunch but good for dinner with nice music group. But the WORST thing was the reception officer lady in our check-out. We have overslept lunch time. Woke up around 13:00. Recepcionist called around 13:20 reminded we have to leave the room. I have replied that we are packing and soon will check out. When we were at reception desk around 13:45 she has started talking too unrespectfully. Asked extra money. I have reminded her to speak more politely. She continued. I have asked name, she did not have any name on her shirt. She did not want to tell by keeping on rude way. And finally she told her name "MAGDA" but am not sure is correct. So, our vacation turned to a stress and demotivation with recepcionist.

great location next to beach with great view

Oevrall great experince, room was great with great view of beach. breakfast was nice, close to city yet far enough for it to be calm and quiet place. Only problem was that they were still fixing the swimming pool and it was not open. one of the reason i booked this place was because of swimming pool.

Renovation

The swimming pool and restaurant was being renovated. We had taken a sea facing room but was too noisy due to renovation. Second day breakfast buffet was not served instead scanty al la carta. No cleaning was done 2nd day despite putting the placard to clean room. USD 100 per day was a rip off and no discount of 55% offered by Expedia when card was charged though it was with flight.

Happy with it all!

We are a group of girls from London who went to Sunwaves, the music festival. The hotel was 3 minutes away in a taxi and 10 minutes walk so perfect. We were very happy with the size of the rooms (we booked 3 and all were nearly the same). They were clean and accommodating. The staff was also very nice, the lady at the reception allowed us to check in at 6am rather than 4pm as normal! Even the cleaning ladies were very nice when we asked for extra shower gel and clean towels! The staff in the restaurant was very slow and never came back when they said they would following a food complaint but other than that, I would stay there again.

A but 'blah'

The room was comfy, service was ok, food was OK - generally I would describe my stay in this Golden Tulip as very bland. We were woken up twice by the maid trying to clean our room (at 9am in the morning) despite putting the 'do not disturb' on the door. The breakfast was vey bland bordering on inedible. The hotel was full of families, therefore I would not recommend for a couple on a peaceful holiday. The Ping pong table was fun though

훌륭한 위치

4성호텔로 보기에는 호텔의 방 크기가 많이 작고, 화장실이 편리하지 않았음, 특히 커피포트는 필수적인 장비인데, 그것이 없어 반드시 비치해야 할 듯. 조식 때, 커피를 제때에 따라주는 남자 직원의 서비스는 만족하나, 일을 하는둥 마는 둥 커피도 안 따르고 서비스도 제때에 하지 못하는 여직원에 대해서는 교육이 필요함. 다만, 리셉션 직원들이 친절하여 마음에 들었고, 마마이아해변에서의 위치도 상당히 훌륭, 조식도 괜찮았고, 수영장도 다른 호텔들과 비교할 때 마음에 듦 다른 고객들에게도 이 호텔을 추천하고 싶음.
