"The property needs some looking after. Generally, it looks as it if needs maintenance and staff. The entrance to the stair way had bird poop all over the railings. And it stay there the entire trip ( 5 days). There was no elevator and I stayed on the top floor. My room was nice due to the space however, the other rooms I booked (3 additional) were okay but the beds were extremely small. There was no toilet tissue nor any complimentary towels like that. There was a tv that didn't work , Wi-Fi...

"Starlight Chalet is a very nice, well maintained classic building with beautiful landscaping. The view is wonderful, especially from upstairs and from the gazebo. The food was very good (but perhaps a bit expensive). The beds were comfortable and the room/bathroom was clean and well-maintained. There is no AC, but the temperature at 3500' was much cooler than in the adjacent lowlands so AC was not essential. We went on several birding excursions and found lots of good birds. If you go,...

"The home was authentic Jamaican, gated and secure. I arrived late in the day with an emerging dental emergency. The next morning this required immediate attention. The Hostess Tamara walked with me to a nearby Dental Centre to be successfully treated. As I returned and departed for the International Airport, the host Shane taxied me to the airport for a flat $25 rate as advertised, (airport taxis were asking for $35-$45 for the same transport.) "This was my first time and not sure if I will be back. The rooms are not sound proof at all. It seems like the other guest were in my room. The security guards allowed my driver to enter the gated property once only during my 3 day stay. We made complaints and nothing was done about it. "Wonderful location, clean, with a very comfortable bed. Older property with only somewhat noisy standing fans to cool - would benefit from quiet ceiling fans. Apparently continental breakfast is complimentary in the rooms, but we weren’t offered this and there were no details about in room dining offered. There were no easy options to get extra water or snacks etc and only one small bottle of water per person per day. You can order extra from the bar, but that seemed to be an unexpected request....

"I loved everything about it! It's peaceful, quiet, friendly staff who leave you alone and don't bother you about anything, normal amenities like tea, bottles of cold water and snacks. If you get the 2nd floor I think you would have a very nice view as well. Also I'm a single female traveler from abroad The rooms are safe and you can bolt lock them from inside. The AC is kicking. Loved my stay and will be back soon."

"My children and I 13 and 17 years old stayed at the ROK hotel for 14 days and it was quite wonderful. The room and overall hotel was very clean. The staff was professional, courteous, and super friendly. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel, however the meals we had was great. My son could not get enough of those big cookies from the cafe."
