"The public areas are spacious and comfortable
My room was spacious with everything you would expect from a high end hotel.
My only caveat would be that air conditioning ought to be considered as the summers are having longer hot spells.
The bar was very pleasant with good service and the breakfasts were excellent.
All the staff I had contact with were courteous and helpful."

"The hotel is not inspiring on the outside but is well situated for trains, buses and travel to the Isle of Wight.
It has the feel of a run-down hotel which is in the process of being up-graded by the present owners. My room had comfortable beds and a newly fitted bathroom but the windows could only be opened a small way as they were blocked by a fire escape staircase immediately outside. The air conditioning unit had seen better days but there was also a fan.
