"Excellent facilities and first rate hotel"

"Our three person room with a double bed and single was a nice size for three people to share. Room was clean and the night staff were most helpful with directions and recommendations for parking. Day staff were nice and pleasant to speak to but when it came to actioning our request for an additional towel at 9am, as the room only had two, it was only given at 11pm by the night staff who had just found the note. Breakfast was standard."

"Stayed for 3 nights, the room was clean, the bed was comfortable, there was air conditioning, the accommodation is in a lodge, separate from the pub,we didn’t have breakfast, we had one evening meal at the pub, which was ok, although rather expensive for ordinary pub grub."

"We truly enjoyed our stay The room was very clean, however the mattress was not so comfortable and the pillows were very flimsy. The room we stayed in was right next to the doors for the stairs so we heard the doors slamming quite often, perhaps a soft close door could solve this problem. Other than this the hotel is very well kept and in a wonderful location mins from the City Centre, without all the noise. The garden was a nice place to spend some quiet time and the pubs across the road were...

"The hotel was clean and it had secure parking around the back. Breakfast is incorrectly advertised as online it says breakfast cooked to order, but in reality it is packaged croissants, apples and cereal. Not the warmest of welcomes from the staff. All round ok stay"

"You couldn't ask for more. Central location, great customer service, restraunts and decor themed across the hotel. The room was a family room, which had a nook for a single bed giving people privacy. The room while not large is perfectly adequate with all the facilities you need. While we didn't dine in, but did have breakfast. The service was fabulous, as was the food. Parking is provided but can be awkward to manoeuvre once in due to the angle of the spaces. Highly recommend and will be back."

"Great pub/hotel/bistro in a beautiful peaceful village. Staff were extremely helpful. We had a wedding with so needed an early check-in and late return. Both were accommodated for. Room was clean, fresh. Continental breakfast was included in price. We also paid extra for cooked b/fast. Very nice freshly cooked, hot, good quality products. Nothing was too much trouble. We would definitely recommend the Star Inn and stay there again. Or even go for a nice meal. Give it a go ! "
