I had a deeply unsettling stay at this Microtel Inn & Suites this past weekend. The first room I was given was ice cold and had a very clear butt print left in the bed, along with the remote to the tv tossed on the window seat , which was disturbing enough on its own. I later discovered from the front desk attendant that there was actually a squatter inside the first room they gave me , who jumped out the window to escape while I was fiddling with the key card.
After reporting this, I was moved to a second room. While it wasn’t the worst room I’ve ever stayed in, it was on the first floor and the window felt extremely flimsy—so much so that it genuinely looked like someone could jimmy it open from outside. I did not feel safe. There was also a wad of unchewed dip on the floor which I had to pick up with tissue .
The hotel was also full of shady & potentially drug using individuals staying in rooms and had homeless people occupying the stairwells and lobby , which further added to the feeling that there was no real security or control over who had access to the building.
Overall, the lack of basic security and safety made this a stressful experience. I would not stay here again and would not recommend it to any female traveling alone or anyone concerned about their safety.
