Stay has been great. This place is in a wonderful location and it's quiet. Gustavo is wonderful. I injured myself and it extended my stay a week. He and his staff have been nothing short of amazing. I recommend people stay here.
Great breakfast, very nice, clean and modern hotel, family owned. One night there was a barking dog most of the night, but the owner talked to the dog owner and the next night was OK.
I'd like to suggest a light over the bathroom mirror, but everything else was great!

Thank you very much dear Bruce for your comments and recomendations, it was a pleasure to host you.
We arrived one day early hoping to change our reservation. Gustavos was more than accommodating. Additionally, he and the staff were extremely helpful. (Calling taxis, making restaurant reservations, returning home when we forgot our key, etc) My sons and I were there over the Christmas holiday and although it was also a holiday for the locals and staff, our needs were well met and graciously at that. We will definitely recommend and stay again.
Gustavo and Estefania were great hosts. The room they gave us was very clean and quiet. Just what we needed. I enjoyed the breakfast, which included fruit, toast with jam, eggs to my liking and coffee. Check-in and check-out were a snap.
We found this hotel in Cuenca by accident. It was a pleasant surprise to be in such a private setting. We will make this our first choice when we go back to visit.
Got to Cuenca pretty late at night. Gustavo father & son helped us out with directions to get to the hotel, got us some sándwiches to make it through the night! Very nice people!
I spent 4 nights in this small hotel(more like B&B) and I really enjoyed staying there. It appears that this hotel was coverted to a hotel from one's residential house an d only had 7 small rooms and 2 two bedroom units. There were minor issues like bugs in the batheroom but was well kept overall. The major benefit for staying this hotel is the STAFF. Gustavo, the owner's son was the second to none. He is very courteous and attentive. That way beauty of this lodging. I'll comeback to this hotel again and again...
Great place to stay and only a $1.50 cab ride to stairs climbing to the historic center! Good quiet safe neighborhood to walk around and nice to be away from the main attractions. I would stay here again.
I spent 4 weeks in Quito (3 different hotels), 2 weeks in Baños, and 1 week in Puyo so far exploring Ecuador. This hotel has been the best by every measure.
The hostel is more like a hotel, with comfortable bed and hot shower. Spotless clean. Only 10 mins walk to a mall with everything. Clean and quiet neighborhood. Everyone is so friendly here. It's a perfect place to take rest.

Overall good but neighbors dog barked all night!!!
There were fireworks and this resulted in a neighbors dog barking all night for BOTH of the nights we stayed!! One guest came there to get away from the noise and also complained of not getting any sleep either. She and another guest did not stay the second night and went elsewhere. We could not do that because we were not at all familiar with the city.
A quaint hostel. Just a bit of ambient noise from an occasional barking dog and a rooster in the distance during the early morning hours. The wooden floors are a bit squeaky but than again they are wooden floors. However, the hostel staff was very hospitable and more than willing to assist you for your excursions to downtown or wherever you plan to go. The manager Estephania was very attentive to ensure your stay was as comfortable as can be. I recommend this hostel.
We spent 3 nights in October. Our room was nice, clean and large enough with two beds. Our room and all the areas are very well decorated. It’s located in a nice, quiet and safe area, not far from a river and a linear park where you can take a good rest.
The staff and the manager Estefania were very friendly. Estefania spent plenty of times to explain the main attractions of Cuenca. She speaks 3 languages and she really enjoyed to speak French with us. The breakfasts were wonderful. It was like being part of a family. We really felt being at home. They even ordered meals for us from outside, when we didn’t feel to go out and search for a restaurant. They prepared a nice table especially for us.
This is certainly the best Bed & Breakfast in Cuenca. Enjoy a few nights there and you won’t be disappointed.
The service was excellent and friendly. The room was immaculate. The Casa Lloret is in a quiet neighborhood outside the city center but close enough to various amenities. The family Lloret went out of their way to provide service with a generous dose of kindness.
Casa Lloret is fabulous. The whole place is immaculate, and the bathroom was large by the standards in Ecuador with excellent hot water. Great WiFi. The continental breakfast included eggs cooked to order and cheese to go with the usual rolls, coffee, cereal and juice. It was the best breakfast I've had in Ecuador, so far. Estefania is the hostess who makes everything run smoothly, She speaks excellent English and is enthusiastic and helpful. Being very attractive doesn't hurt the experience, either. Estefania explains how to take the bus into the center. It is not difficult and the bus stop is a short walkand a twenty minute ride. If you take a taxi back from the center it costs $2 or $3 dollars. Anyway, this place gets my highest recommendation. There is sometimes some sporadic dog barking outside at night, but nothing serious.
As any visitor should do, spend your first few days in El Centro to look around. Stay in town, but when you're finished, get out of the pollution and travel about a mile and a half South to this sweet find. A single room is $40, full use of Kitchen, private bathroom...wow...I live here but in a pinch, I'ved stayed here four times already. Best kept secrete in Cuenca.
The Casa Lloret Hostel is new. It is located in a quiet and beautiful neighbourhood. The hostal itself is neat, clean and modern. It got excellent wifi connection. Although it took a little bit time before hot water came out frm the shower, the water was hot enough and I had a good shower. The operators were friendly and helpful. They made me a full breakfast. The only disadvantage was that there was only two restaurants in the neighbourhood. One of them only serves genuine pig. Overall, it is an excellent hostal. I enjoyed my 2- night stay very much.
I found the Hostal to be very clean, a most comfortable bed, ample closet and storage, and an accommodating staff. The complimentary breakfast was excellent, Cold Cereal, Fresh Juice, Yogurt, hot water for tea, fresh coffee, Fresh Fruit, Eggs prepared as you like them, Bread, butter, and jam. There was an internal patio where one could sit in the sun to read, etc.
The Hostal is located in a residential area of Cuenca, not the downtown but the property is well maintained the bed is comfortable, the rooms are clean with modern bathrooms. The owner is very easy going and went out of the way to ensure all the guests needs are met. The breakfast is typical for Ecuador, fresh fruit and juice as well as warm croissants with jam and eggs if desired. I would definitely stay here again.
I located this property in the best buys category and it definitely lives up to the claim.
This hotel is run by a brother and sister in a very nice neighborhood in Cuenca, near the river. Estefania Lloret managed the hotel(there are two seperate hotels facing each other). Our hotel had eight people staying there and they were all very personable. The breakfast was well done, typical of the breakfast for Ecuador. Estefania is familiar with English, and was always helpful with information. She made it easy to travel to my next destination by finding a hotel for me. This is not a fancy hotel, but is clean, well run, price friendly, and comfortable. My rating reflects what you get for the money and service. The river is a block away and was a joy to walk. You can walk to the center of the city in about forty minutes and not be lost, or take a bus and be there in fifteen minutes. Make sure you have a map printed if you are taking a taxi there from the bus station to make it easier for the driver. It is only ten minutes from there and about $3.
This hotel is exceptional! It is extremely modern but cozy, with several private rooms and suites. It has a lovely outdoor courtyard where I enjoyed reading in the evening. Each room has its own private bath and flat screen TV with both US (English) and South American (Spanish) channels. Breakfast is included and made to order. Casa Lloret is located just outside the center of Cuenca (20 minute walk to the city center or a $1.50 taxi ride). If you chose to take the lovely walk along the river and a beautiful boulevard into the city, it is safe, as is the entire city. There is a large shopping mall and quite a few local restaurants in the neighborhood. The staff is very accommodating, and English (and French, if you prefer!) is spoken by many of the staff. The staff can also provide you with information about the local spa (including mud baths), shopping, eating, and sites as well as recommend real estate agents (a very different search process than the U.S.) if you are visiting Cuenca in the hope of retiring to this beautiful city. I plan to visit Cuenca again in the near future, and this will be my "home away from home">
