Friendly, clean, quiet, and an excellent location. We stayed in an upstairs room that was basic, but charming, and everything worked. Difficult to park outside for check in.

Vou ser bem detalhista para ajudar outras pessoas Pontos positivos: hotel bem limpo, com ótima localização (bem no centro, dá para fazer tudo a pé). Equipe sempre bem prestativa. Café e chá à vontade durante o dia. Eles fazem de tudo para te atender suas solicitações. Arquitetura bem detalhista e chamativa. Pontos negativos: sempre tem somente 1 funcionário na propriedade, então se vários hóspedes estão com demandas ao mesmo tempo, você terá que esperar um bocado. Para pagar no cartão, aumenta 12% do valor. Achei que o quarto não veda muito bem a temperatura, que estava baixa e passei frio. O café da manhã é oferecido sem possibilidade de escolha, e apesar de ser bem feito e gostoso, pode ser ruim para pessoas com condições especiais: meu pai é diabético e teve que comprar algumas coisas no mercado (abacate, pão integral ...) para ajustar para sua situação de saúde. A internet realmente não é boa, tive muita dificuldade para usar na propriedade. Para mim isso foi a pior coisa da estadia, pois cancelaram meu voo e tive que pedir para meu marido em outro país remarcar o voo, já que eu não tinha internet suficiente para entrar no site. Não consegui trabalhar na propriedade por conta disso. Eu voltaria para uma viagem de casal ou passeio. Não voltaria para uma viagem de trabalho, pois não há mesa no quarto e boa wifi.

No hice uso porue no me gusto el hostal, vimos sabanas sucias en la cama y nos retiramos

Pero sino hizo uso de las camas como va a saber que las sabanas estaban sucias, pero bueno su comentario nos ayuda a mejorar nuestra calidad y ser mucho mas cuidadosos al entregar las habitaciones así como hemos venido haciendo desde la apertura del hostal en el 2013, tal vez esta sea la primera ves, revisamos las habitaciones y camas y no encontramos nada sucio, en todo caso lamento su mala experiencia. Trabajaremos en mejorar. Saludos Cordiales.

Excellent place to stay
This is a wonderful place to stay! I had Room #14, and it is beautiful, spacious, and quiet. I slept the best I ever have during my 5 night stay here. The breakfast is good, and the staff is so helpful. Although they do not speak English, it is not a problem, because they will speak slowly or write things down for you so that you can better understand. In my case, the owner was even kind enough to arrange for me to go to the Ingapirca ruins for the day with another guest who was going by himself who spoke both English and Spanish. It was a perfect match and a great day! The hotel is centrally located and in a very safe area. I highly recommend this hotel, and will definitely stay here again. It's a good value for your money.

Nice place
I stayed on the third floor, which allowed me to have a window. Most of the rooms appear not to have a window so might be a little stuffy. The breakfast area is in the central area so it can be a bit noisy in the morning. On the plus side, comfortable beds, good wifi and it is decorated in a very charming way.

This was our second stay at Ines Maria. We returned because we loved it the first time. The staff are wonderful. The physical plant is delightfully old fashioned. Breakfast is varied, abundant and cooked to order. We will return if we pass this way again.

Charming Hotel in Heart of Historic District
We felt welcome from the time we walked in the door. The staff was amazing, especially Erika and Katy. Staying here felt like going back in time, but with all the amenities like Wifi and hot water. The hotel is located right in the middle of the Historic District so you can walk out the door to find churches, shops, and restaurants. We would definitely stay there again.

Hotel photographs far, far better than the service you will eventually get. If you are an exhibitionist, request room #9. It has a full sized window from the shower and bathroom into the outside public hall. Not a tinted, or colored, or frosted, or even a shaded window. A full on window for people to view each other. My first two nights went fine. The rooms are very clean and the breakfasts were very good. The third night, the night watchman decided to have a private party, while I was the only guest in the hotel. He invited people over at midnight, and they were feasting until 12:30AM, when I called. They slowed down slightly until 1AM, when I complained again. That is when four showers started running, and someone decided it was a reasonable time to start washing dishes in the kitchen below. The hotel owner apologized and promised to refund the last night's stay. Of course, that did not happen. No one even bothered to deny that this happens. So if you do not particularly care about having a good night's sleep, by all means. If you have some basic expectations, then by all means avoid this hotel.

The hostel is an 120 year old building and beautiful decorated. To stay thre takes you back in the history. Wery friendly place to stay. The owners give good advise about what to see in the city of Cuenca.

Excelente lugar. Muy cómodo y acogedor. Limpio y muy bien ubicado. La amabilidad y cuidado en cada detalle por parte de sus propietarios hizo que la estadía sea la mejor y nos sintamos como en casa. Definitivamente volvería al mismo lugar.

Hostal Ines Maria--my new favorite
Hostal Ines Maria is one of the best places I've ever stayed on this three-month trip through five countries in Central and South America. Outstanding value for money, best bed, best bedding, sheets, pillows, best bathroom (could have used more light at night when the skylight was unable to provide light), best breakfast. The value of Hostal Ines Maria was just reinforced as I checked into another guest house in Vilcabamba, where I paid more than I paid at Ines Maria for a plain room with little comfort plus a 35 foot walk outside to a shared bathroom, and no breakfast. Looking forward to spending another night at Ines Maria on the trip back north.

El hostal es muy bonito y está muy bien ubicado. La suite en la que nos quedamos también era muy bonita, aunque el hidromasaje del baño no estaba funcionando la noche en que nos quedamos y también tuvimos un poco de problemas con el ruido en la noche. La atención del personal siempre fue de primera.

Lots of ambiance
Nice hotel with lots of wood beams and decor. Tasty breakfast. Good location. Room a bit small but the bed was one of the most comfortable I have slept in.

Lugar y personas acogedores.
El ambiente del hotel es precioso, hay mucho esmero en cada detalle de la decoración. Lo mismo sucede con el trato a los huéspedes por parte de los trabajadores y de los mismos dueños, quienes son muy cálidos y amables. En nuestro caso se interesaron mucho por orientarnos para conocer mejor la ciudad, porque nos sintamos cómodos en el hotel y por saber cómo la estábamos pasando en general en esa ciudad.

Bedding cleanliness not good; all else EXCELLENT
Great location, service, breakfast and wireless internet and cable tv. Bedding was not clean so if you are afraid of cooties this may not be the hotel for you. However, the bedding was very comfortable.

Very elegant hotel!
Hostel Ines Maria is not the Ritz. But, it is a very inexpensive and very nice hotel with a wonderful staff and management. It is located in the the city of Cuenca very close to many tourist attractions, restaurants and shopping areas. Juan and Cathy, the proprietors, go ABOVE and BEYOND in making their guests Happy, comfortable and welcome. Excellent food and table side service were the norm at breakfast each morning. Juan and Cathy did extra things for myself and Lairana, my Friend, that Iwe have never experienced in any other hotel we have stayed in throughout the world. It truly was a joy to spend five wonderful days with them and we hope to return one day to enjoy more of their wonderful hospitality

My room was a small pretty box inside the building
When I arrived they had no record of me being booked there. This was frustrating as I had just had a long drive from Guayaquil and wanted to go to my room. I don't speak Spanish which is my fault and I dont expect people to learn English just to cater to tourists, however when a problem like this arises it is very difficult to make yourself understood. The room was pretty but v small and it felt a bit like being in a kennel because the only window was to the inside of the building so it was claustrophobic. It was also very noisy as I was on the ground floor it sounded like there were a herd of buffaloes above me. I could also here everyones conversations. I didn't get up in time for breakfast so I cant comment on that. I also had to ring a buzzer to be let in whatever time of day it was and this felt like a hassle. I think the people who run and very nice and well intentioned. I do think it is overpriced what it offers. Perhaps the upstairs rooms were much better.

Unique hotel
Very interesting hotel....there is a very detailed review previously that is "spot on" about the rooms. Only thing I have to add is that they do have hairdryers you can ask for at the front desk. The people there were very f iendly, but very little English. Great location...and unique (in a good way) hotel.

My husband and I stayed with two friends for 3 days at Hostel Inez Maria. We were very impressed with Juan and Cathy, the owners/managers. They provided excellent service and information in a relaxed, courteous and charming manner. They showed a concern for our comfort and well being at all times. The hotel staff were helpful and friendly and more than willing to answer any questions. The hotel itself is tastefully done and you felt like you were walking into a little oasis away from the city noise. Our bed and pillows were very comfortable and the shower, although compact, was hot and had lots of pressure. The breakfasts are individually prepared, with your choice of eggs/omelettes, toast, rolls, fresh fruit, fresh juices and excellent coffee. Defininitly not your standard hotel fare. If you like intimate hotels with character and personal service then this is the place for you.

An oasis in the centre of Cuenca
Wonderfully charming smaller hotel with delightful common areas to relax, clean comfortable rooms, a great breakfast and most of all , the fabulous staff who were very helpful to us during our stay ! The central location is very convenient for sightseeing.
