"This property was AMAZING!! From the view, to the staff, to even the great little blue truck selling coffee and ice cream was great. The room even had a record player with cool vinyls ready to play like Beach Boy’s Pet Sounds and Bob Marley’s greatest hits. How cool! The property was clean and looked like it was recently renovated with some modern touches. Another great perk if you have kids, they had fire pits on the beach they lit every night. One night my daughter asked if they were going to light the fires so she could cook s’mores, but unfortunately it was too windy and unsafe too and knowing she was sad to hear the news they gave her a bag of chocolate, marshmallows and graham crackers to eat in her room. That just made her night! Thank you so much Tides! Nobody would be disappointed to stay here. The only down side, if there is really one, is we would have wished the bathroom was like a foot bigger. The location cannot be beat - this hotel is just steps from the public beach access, multiple restaurants, the bus stop (free service to downtown Newport during the summer), and a short walk to the beautiful Cliff Walk. The hotel is well maintained and clean, with an indoor pool and sun deck with views of the sea. Highly recommend. "

"We booked the king room with a harbor view. The room, on the top floor, had a beam ceiling with brick walls, which we appreciated as we enjoy historical inns. The picture window was a plus. The complimentary continental breakfast was plentiful and changed each morning. Staff members were attentive."

"I took my daughter and her friend to Newport for a couple days to get away. I like the fact that this hotel had the beach right across the street and was close to the shopping in Newport. The hot tub wasn’t working on the rooftop deck, but that was fine. The elevator also was being repaired on day two of our stay and was out of commission until we left. We did get a text message asking if we would need help with our bags when we left which we didn’t need, but it was nice to know that it was an option if we did need it. I would definitely stay here again."
