"I’ll preface this by noting that the property is close to the wilderness, so wildlife is to be expected. Staying in Room 27, I found several spiders, including three black widows (two in the bathroom and one in the in-room spa), along with a few other spiders and some black ants near the fireplace. After finding the widows, I became extra cautious, checking the bed, spa, toilet, and curtains before using them.
That said, the hotel itself was clean and well maintained. The grounds were tidy, the walkways were pleasant to stroll with our dogs, and the overall property felt cared for.
The amenities were excellent. The in-room spa was the highlight of the stay—it heated quickly, worked perfectly, and was incredibly relaxing after a full day of hiking and exploring. I only wish I had spent more time enjoying it. Water pressure in both the shower and spa was excellent, all the lights worked, and the TV and remote functioned properly. The shower floor did have a long, thin crack extending across its width, but it remained solid and didn't affect its use. The room only had one window, so ventilation was limited; I found it much more comfortable after opening the window and running the in-room fan to improve the airflow.
The staff was outstanding—friendly, welcoming, and happy to provide recommendations.
The location is hard to beat: walking distance to a flower nursery, kayak rentals, The Village, the lake, restaurants, and 2 parks. I would return after spider extermination."
