"Lovely proprietor. Cooked breakfast was great, a pity that on last day we couldn't have it because of staffing problem. Attractively decorated property"

"Nice room clean comfortable and tastefully decorated.. good hot shower ! It was a little cold in the early mornings - didn’t mange to work out the heating arrangements. Chimney breast in Chatsworth showing water ingress - we understand from the owner that this was being dealt with .. Cafes not really close enough to walk to for breakfast. It would be good if the dining room had a toaster and microwave so that it would be easy to make your own . Overall a good place to stay for visiting family...

"We found the Tap House to be a disappointing stay, full of contradictions. The checkin was easy and the staff friendly. We stayed in a two bedroom unit, which has a sitting area and kitchen. The room was nice but tired with dirty doors and some broken/missing fixtures (door return hanging off, cable trunking missing capping). The kitchen had a kettle and a Lor coffee maker but no tea or coffee, cups but no glasses, knives and forks but no cooking utensils (except for can opener, peeler and...

"Fantastic overnight, it was a wonderful stay with very very friendly and helpful hosts. Absolutely would come again!"

"A lovely place to stay, very simple check in, room was lovely, doors opening onto a lovely little garden where we sat watching the butterflies and reading! Plenty of tea and coffee for the morning! Helpful owner 🙂"

"the bathroom smelled like the pipes to the sewer were not right. the smell was there when i checked in and never went away. they don’t clean corners so there nice rooms are going to age quickly."

"As always this hotel is one of the best around. Lovely clean rooms, staff are amazing and make you feel welcome as soon as you arrive. Plenty of parking and all round just a great hotel. Would highly recommend and will always book this hotel if possible through work. Thanks again for a great stay Steven."

"Perfect location. Easy check in. Reasonable price"

"Although we almost turned around upon walking down the block towards the guest house, I am glad we stayed there. Paul, the custodian, was charming and helpful, the facilities were adequate, and access to food make a simple breakfast was nice, but every room should have a fan. We appreciated the price, but will not stay there again."

"Decent on paper, disappointing in reality. The room looked fine in the photos but fell short in person. We were on the ground floor and arrived to a strong smell of cigarettes - the throw blanket had a burn hole in it, suggesting a previous guest had smoked despite the advertised £100 fine. There was pink staining on the shower floor and the only chair had a broken spindle on the back - when I went to move it, the top rail separated entirely from the remaining spindles and I had to pop it back...

"Lovely stay"

"Good clean comfortable room for the price, helpful staff and well located for central Leicester."

"Double room was extremely small, difficult for two people to stand in the bathroom at the same time. Only one of the windows opened and when it was open there was a strong smell of Indian food being cooked which sullied all our clothing. It was shabby to say the least."

"The room was clean and the sheets. The common bathroom needs a bit of a scrub as the wall tiles are not clean The staff were pleasant and helpful"

"Great location, easy to book in and facilities great for the price, would stop again"
