My wife and I stayed for three nights at Bartles Lodge in August 2026. We were warmly welcomed by proprieters upon arrival. The premises were clean and comfortable, we opted for a continental breakfast and the selection offered was excellent. We ate two evening meals which were hot and tasty and well presented. The main lounge was spacious with a bar, tv and reading materials. Although we weren't fishing, the lodge was a great facility to stay at in quiet and beautiful surroundings. We highly recommend a stay at Bartles Lodge

Everything was lovely. Comfortable bed . Lovely view over one of the Lakes . Peaceful and quiet. Hosts were very helpful and welcoming. Will definitely return.

Comfortable and quiet with great service

Lovely place, would definitely stay again. The hosts were so welcoming. Spotlessly clean, good sized room, comfortable bed and beautiful grounds. The breakfast was great too, perfectly cooked fresh eggs!

Not near the coast but Bartles Lodge offers a warm welcome, decent accommodation and a brilliant breakfast. Would recommend The Lodge at North Tuddenham for dinner.

Beautiful location and wonderful people

Bartles lodge is in a beautiful location, even though we don't fish. Food was wonderful and Sue and Paul were brilliant hosts. Thank you and we look forward to staying there again

Solo trip

Genuinely a lovely room, plenty of space, nice big bathroom and plenty of outdoor space. The staff are wonderful and they helped with everything.

Su and Paul are fabulous hosts, they were very welcoming and helpful, the property is spacious and breakfast was delicious. Everything you need is there and the lounge with honesty bar is a great addition. 10/10 for our short stay

We did not stay here to go fishing , we were attending a family wedding nearby, owners very friendly, rooms perfect breakfast food plentiful nothing is to much trouble, honesty bar in communal lounge, approx 5 miles to East Dereham.

Lovely location and great stay

We stayed here as a couple for a night away. It's in a quaint and quiet village with beautiful surroundings. The host met us on arrival and was helpful and friendly. We had a lovely night's sleep. We enjoyed breakfast too!

A lovely property in beautiful grounds. The hosts Su and Paul were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. A nice touch was the honesty bar which was well stocked. Breakfast was lovely and more choice than most hotels. I would reccomend a stay to anyone. Thanks Martin and Glennis

Peaceful and relaxing stay.

We had a lovely stay at Bartles. The setting is wonderful, it is so peaceful and there are 3 fishing lakes in the grounds if you are into fishing. Ducks and hens run loose in the grounds. Sue, the owner, is so kind and helpful. It feels like you are a guest in someone's home rather than a hotel.

We only stayed one night while visiting friends. The room was clean, warm and comfortable, breakfast was very good, and our hostess was very helpful and friendly. We visited in November, in the low season, and were the only guests. It will be a lovely peaceful retreat in the summer, but, beware, it is quite remote, with few nearby servcies. You certainly need a car.

Great place !

We spent 3 nights at the Bartles Lodge and absolutely loved it. It was the ideal place for a peaceful holiday. The hosts were fantastic. They were very friendly and always helpful. The free breakfast was very enjoyable and once we tried the dinner and we were not disappointed. They have a bar which stocks beer, wine and soft drinks. Prices are comparable to supermarket prices. Grounds are great for a nice walks around the 3 lakes. Room was very comfortable and had everything we needed. We hope to make a return trip soon.

Bartles Lodge was a perfect find for us. Convenient for our Norfolk overnight stay. Su was a very welcoming host and ensured we knew where to go for breakfast explaining times and the request to complete the cooked breakfast form the evening before. We had booked two rooms and both were very clean and comfortable. The bed linen and towels were good quality. The breakfast was exceptional and included steak in place of bacon. The honesty bar and evening food option were great facilities - if we had stayed longer these would have been used. The grounds and lakes also looked lovely but we didn’t have time to walk around.

Bartles Lodge is a gem of a hotel. It’s situated in a very peaceful and serene village, making it the perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of day to day life. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and cosy, offering all the amenities you’d expect and more. While subjective, I found the bed to be one of the most comfortable I’ve had in recent memory. When it comes to breakfast, the spread on offer is fantastic: cereals, toast, pastries, chocolates, fruits and a selection of cooked offerings. The wonderful owners go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and looked after; they couldn’t have done more to make us feel at home. After living out of business hotels for the past two years, Bartles Lodge was a welcome breath of fresh air. If I find myself needing lodging in the area again, I’ll be looking to book here.
