Picture of room I reserved and paid for was not room they had for me. Was told “booked with third party so technically third party was supposed to change the room”. Manager did change the room. Lengthy check in. Room was great! Beds and pillows great! Clean! We enjoyed our stay and will stay here again.

When we walked in the microwave vent was on high and the air conditioner was set to 60 which we found odd. The ceiling had previous water damage in numerous spots and the paint was maybe mid touch up or just not done well. All of those issues would have been fine but the cleanliness of the floors, bathroom, and bedding left much to be desired. Had we arrived earlier we probably would have at the least requested a different room, but as it was after midnight we toughed it out. The other party we travelled with had no complaints, so possibly hit or miss. Our room a definite miss.

Covered Bridge Festival Overnight

Well, the first problem my key would not work so I went back to get a new one. She said I have to fanagle it in order to open. Same thing happened, took me 10-15 times before I could even get into my room. The room itself was great, except I thought I was getting a fireplace and a dvd player....I would have said something if I was staying later than a day, but not a big deal. Then the TV size was not the full size. I tried to fix it, but it would not work. The breakfast was great except for the bacon. It seemed like it was not fully cooked. Then I went to check out and waited for 10 minutes and nobody showed up. There should always be two people at the desk for this reason. Otherwise it was a decent stay. Nice and quiet.

We were only here for one night, but our stay was great. We slept well, and we appreciated the 24-hour hot tub because we got in later in the evening. Every staff member we encountered was cheerful, friendly, and helpful. This will be our go-to hotel whenever we are in the Des Moines area!

I didn't like that the room I was initially put in was incorrect, Expedia blamed hotel and hotel blamed Expedia, and was told by hotel that there was nothing they could do because 3rd party made the reservation. I was unable to get in contact with the hotel manager during my entire stay. On the second day of my stay I had to contact IGH directly. IGH helped get the room corrected to a room with the jetted tub but the jetted tub was not functional due to an electrical issue. The hot tub in the pool area was not functioning properly either and was colder than the pool. There was trash on the second floor hallway the first night and rather than disposing of it I found it moved to the bottom of the staircase where it still was just left out and not disposed of. I went to get a snack from the hotel pantry at one point and all of the block and barrel chips they had were past their sell by date. The staff there had tried to be accommodating as they could, but it was moot because of the complete absence of the hotel manager.

Reserved a king suite with a fireplace and a jetted tub for my family to celebrate Mother's Day. Upon arrival we were immediately downgraded to a queen suite with a fireplace that did not work and a bathtub with no jets-- which my wife said she would be fine with, so I did not make a fuss about it. My kids wanted to do swimming so we did on both days, but there were no towels anywhere in the swimming area at any time during our stay, and we were forced to bring towels down from our hotel room; also the hot tub was cold. Breakfast was average, the smallish food bar was overcrowded, and at times there was a 10-minute wait to use the waffle machine.
