"It's a historic propery- about 130 years old. But it's in very good shape. The place has character, but with nice attention to detail. The restaurant/bar is great. The fried cod and chicken meatloaf entrees were delicious, but I didn't like the string beans (undercooked). The room was cozy, clean and quiet (we had one facing the lake and not the street)."

"It was a real treat to stay at the Balsam Inn! The Inn is off the beaten path like I wanted and very very quite. Jenny is a warm welcoming host. She even upgraded my room just because it was available. The room itself was beautiful! It felt like I was a guest in someones Adirondack mountain home. "This was a nice place to stay for a brief, overnight stay. It was conveniently located in the heart of town and just a stone's throw away from the beautiful Long Lake. The room was a little basic but it did have a super refreshing shower. Would stay again because of the nice staff & convenience factor."
