The morning of the taxi my flight was cancelled and I asked them to have the taxi take me to the train which is equidistant. Instead, they cancelled the taxi and kept berating me to pay an additional 100€ on top of the deposit for the cancelled ride- which they cancelled! "Our family’s stay at this hotel was extremely disappointing, and I would not recommend it. One of the biggest issues was the pest problem. Do not leave any food anywhere in the room—not even on the bed. We left some food for about an hour, and when we came back, it was covered with ants. Once the ants appeared, they continued to show up in the room. To make matters worse, we found a cockroach in our room every single night. The breakfast buffet was also disappointing, with very limited options...

"We stayed at the Hotel Villa Sirina for 4 nights to visit Taormina and Etna. The hotel is family owned and run and the staff are very pleasant and helpful. The hotel is very clean, well maintained with a nice pool in a quiet location. The hotel is situated on a bit of an incline about 10 minutes walk to the main Taormina train station and there are bus routes on the road outside the station to Taormina, Naxos, Catania etc. There are shops and bars within around 10-15 minutes walking distance...

"The hotel staff is very helpful, and the breakfast was good. While the rooms are clean, the air conditioning in some rooms worked less well than others (our family had two rooms), and there were problems with the plumbing. The shower in our room did not work well at all and water pressure was very low. The locks were hard to open on the doors and often required some struggle. The location was good near a public pebbly beach (and several lidos) and the Intercity Etna bus line to Taormina."
