"The room was nice. It was clean and smelled fresh and the bed was comfortable. I enjoyed the pool and hot tub. It would have been nice if all the doors were accessible with the key card as the rear parking required a walk around the building to gain access. Also, it would have been nice to see the coffee and breakfast area available earlier than it was but I guess that I tend to be a early riser. Generally it was a great place to stay as I found it convenient for walking into town to enjoy...

"We booked a 1 story villa. It was Very dog friendly, all the villas are on the lake, with direct views and easy access to the lake. Kitchen was very usable, it had most tools needed. the room is aged but cabin cozy. bedroom is a bit small. 8min to lutsen mountains and easy access to superior hiking trails.. very bike friendly area. I would stay again!"

"Things could be updated and the outside property should be cleaned up. The staff was ok but didn't seem to know how to take cash."

"We got to stay in a room next to Lake Superior and we had a balcony were we could watch the sunrise. Very beautiful. Only a couple of minutes from Oberg Mountain. FYI they do not serve a full breakfast so plan accordingly!"

"This is an excellent and fun place to stay for the price. It’s designed to be an affordable family place with an outdoor fire pit right on the lake. It’s not the Ritz…it’s not a luxury resort. It’s a perfect place in a great location that everyone can afford. We have been here before and will return. Love Solbakken Resort!"

"Great to have an affordable suite with a lake view and waterfront . Nice to have a 1 BR, bath, kitchen and living room. It was clean but could use some updating. Loved close proximity to Grand Marais and state parks and hiking."

"The hotel appeared to have been recently renovated. Furniture was new as were the linens. The staff was extremely helpful. The rooms all had an outdoor balcony and the views were terrific."
