"We had a wonderful stay at Lifton Hall Hotel. The staff were extremely helpful, friendly, and welcoming from the moment we arrived. Nothing was too much trouble, and their warm service made our visit feel very special. The team were professional, attentive, and always happy to help with a smile. A lovely hotel with fantastic hospitality"
"The room was fairly small but both the room and the shower room were very clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was absolutely excellent."
"I arrived to a lovely greeting from Sandra who showed me to my room and made me feel welcome. The old watermill and out buildings are full of character and it is home this time of year to a hundred or more of swallows & swifts, which is a sight to see. The views are great and the courtyard catches the last of the westerly setting sun to enjoy some late afternoon warmth. I stayed half board and the food has been fantastic !
Plenty of free parking and placed at the end of a long lane there is only the sound of the country, but a stones throw is Tavistock for your every need. I will be back for sure !"
"Beautiful friendly historic location. Excellent food, comfortable quiet rooms and a decent size car park. Service was great and the WiFi was good.
Sir Francis Drake used to live nearby for history buffs.
Deep in the Tamar Valley AONB there's much to enjoy.
Phone signal is shaky in Milton Combe."
"clean room, lots of clean towels, large spring water bottles and glasses provided. very comfortable bed and plump cushions. Tea and coffee etc nicely set out. could not fault the room. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice to suit every taste. Lovely couple running it who couldn't do enough for us"
"Great place on the Cornwall/Devon border, equidistant from the stuff you can do in the Southwest. The food they serve is great, as is the staff I interacted with. An EV charger in the same parking area is very helpful, as well. I was surprised that my single room didn't have a TV. The water pressure and heat when trying to shower were never consistent (but usually okay). While not a comment about this hotel, know that this area doesn't have much for stuff to do. If you're on vacation here, the hotel is where you go to call it a night and relax. Knowing all this, I would definitely keep this place in mind the next time I do a Southwest holiday."
