"After stumbling across Windermere while searching "last minute hotel deals" on New years Day 2026, we jumped on the much needed opportunity to sneak away for the night.
And....we booked again 3 months later ❤️
Both times we booked the standard garden view King rooms and both times we were upgraded to Lakeview room 322 with balcony. I don't know why, but we are so grateful as the view is stunning. We watched snow falling over the lake, ice fisherman hauling in their catch, deer grazing on the Hotel property and surroundings, the gas fireplace with Muskoka chairs, and the hot tub/pool/sauna area.
The room is spacious, clean and equipped with everything you need to make your stay comfortable. Beds and pillows were perfect for us. Bathroom was a standard bathroom. It has a jetted tub, but the jets didn't work...no biggie as we spent much of our time in the hot tub to soak our tired bones.
Tv, mini fridge, bottle water and Nespresso coffee machine were also included.
Staff are pleasant, welcoming and very attentive from the welcome desk, property maintenance, food service and house keeping.
Restaurants: we only ate at the breakfast buffet which was so nicely done. Many hot and cold choices from bacon, eggs, home fries to smoked salmon, chia pudding, fresh fruit, variety of breads, bagels, etc. Hot coffee and juices. The display was so nicely laid out.
While using the hot tub, we were greeted by a herd of 9 deer who meandered around the property for a few hours.
