"The hotel is very well located for a short walk into the village, or to the train station. The hotel car park has a couple of EV charging points in it which worked perfectly and were much appreciated. My only observation would be that the decoration in our room was a little tired in places, nothing terrible though it didn't spoil our experience, and the room was perfectly clean. "Room 1 is extremely small, but was spotless and the bed extremely comfortable. There were too few staff. Service at dinner and the bar was very slow. Dinner wasn't as hot as it should have been. There was too much food on a small plate, I had to hunt under the chicken for my vegetables! Overall, it's quite expensive for food that although was delicious it wasn't hot and not served in a timely manner."

"This pub was a great find, lovely staff, great breakfast, parking easy and free. The history was amazing. The Gaskell tower is a must. We stayed in a heatwave , the room was warmer than expected, and we should have asked for a fan. The only slight problem, not the pubs fault, it is on the direct flight path for Manchester airport, they did stop flying between the hours of 11.30pm-6.00 am!!"
