"Generally a good hotel and the staff were friendly. Breakfast was very good. Our family room looked very tired. In particular, the carpet, net curtains and bathroom sink need to be replaced and modernised."

"The night staff on August 8th, 2026 earned this hotel a solid 1 star if any. An absolutely horrible front desk lady that shouldn't be in contact with any customer at any level. The room was internally facing in a well like building so with the windows open it was a furnace, no AC. Breakfast was OK, very basic. I wouldn't recommend thos place, it was way below expectations."

"Lovely hotel on the sea front. The staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. Shops, restaurants, steam railway all within walking distance. The breakfast was excellent. The complimentary soft drinks and snacks were a nice touch. Room was adequate for a 1 night stay, lovely bathroom & comfortable bed. Would return again and recommend to others"

"The management of this hotel seem to be under the impression that adding "boutique" to the name is sufficient to give it a veneer of quality. Unfortunately the name is where that veneer abruptly & catastrophically ends. I’ll start with the 1 positive - the staff were all fine – no issues there. "I just very recently came back (July 2026) from almost a week on the Isle of Man and stayed at the Devonian the whole time. I can highly recommend it for the breakfasts, the lovely and responsive staff, the central location, and the spotless rooms. For being a three-star hotel, I felt the value was among the best I've ever experienced traveling. "I received a warm welcome at reception and was able to store my bag until it was time to check-in, later in the day. My room had a sea view and was clean, tidy and contained everything I required during my visit. I'd happily stay here again on any future visits to the Isle of Man."

"Great location, close to the beach and not far from fantastic public transport connections (bus, tram (horse drawn and electric) and a steam train. Complementary breakfast was a nice addition. Only issue was the exposure to passive smoking. This took place on the porch through the day and evening."
