"I stayed for 4 nights at the Holiday Inn in York. I was warmly greeted by the receptionist and was checked in quickly. As I don't use lifts, the receptionist arranged for my suitcase to be taken up to my room. My room, on the 2nd floor, was big and looked very clean. There was a double bed, 2 seater sofa, TV, plenty of hanging space but only 5 hangers, and tea/coffee making facilities. "I LOVED Carol. She was welcoming and kind, made an amazing breakfast for me, answered all my questions. A great hostess. My room (12) was super clean and the bed was comfortable. Lots of pillows and extra blankets. Nice big TV. The water pressure was really low but I think that’s typical in older buildings. The garden was peaceful and I enjoyed sitting there in the evening with a glass of wine. Great stay. Traveled from Canada."

"We stayed at Woodhall hotel and spa for 4 nights in the lodges. There was not much natural light entering the room and noise can be heard from the adjoining room The building could do with some refurbishment The views and gardens are beautiful The staff were really excellent and nothing was too much trouble The food was equally good with some fabulous combinations and flavours and, they have an interesting wine list, if slightly on the pricey side. Overall we enjoyed our stay. Thank you"

"Situated in a picture postcard little village, everything about the hotel was top notch, the decor throughout and our room was tasteful and modern, everything was spotless and clean. "We received a warm welcome when we checked in. Our room was spotless and had quality bed/bedding etc. Also had a spacious, well appointed bathroom. We had an excellent night's sleep. We enjoyed dinner and breakfast here. All the food was first class and everyone who served us was very pleasant and helpful. Would definitely recommend this hotel."

"The location was good, though parking was difficult in the back alley. The room was quite hot, even on a cool day, and were it not for the ability to open the window and use a fan (already in the room) it would have been very comfortable. The condition of the room - new and clean - was very good."

"Impressive building with lovely grounds; however unfortunately our room did not live up to the same standard with wine bottles & beer cans left at the door on entry, along with the odour from the previous guests takeaway. Thankfully the staff were able to accommodate a different room for our stay, but it is worth noting the rooms both shared a rather tired appearance and we left a little deflated bearing in mind the room rate."

"Very nice staff, very clean room, nice clean bathroom nice shower over the bath plenty of hot water good water pressure, 2 small bottles of shampoo and body wash and a small bar of soap towels provided. Nice room with desk and chairs the bed was comfortable. Not enough power points to charge your phone/laptop/watch no USB points especially difficult if two people have items to charge at the same time maybe bring an extension lead/plug. Car parking is charged and expensive especially if staying...
