I was so pleasantly surprised with Zenith Basecamp! Definitely the nicest "hostel" I've been to. All spaces- bedroom, bathroom and common areas- were clean and spacious

Clean and comfortable place to stay, much nicer than anticipated. One surprise: the top slats of the room walls are offset (probably for airflow) which means that you hear every sound. Bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper. Not being able to open the window was a little frustrating but for the price I can’t complain too much. The place was clean, felt safe, there was reserved parking with our room and spacious bathrooms.

Simple and clean with a microwave to enable us to heat up leftovers in the glass bowls we brought along. Tableware suited us fine, including the hard plastic dishes and bowls - we just don’t put plastic in a microwave, (maybe some types are ok - we just avoid it). Mattress was a bit too soft to our liking, but it was ok. Not being tech-savvy and skittish about downloading another app so we could use our phones as our “room key,” we appreciated Joe’s helpfulness and the option to obtain a physical key card. We brought everything else we needed, as recommended.

Great location! Easy to walk to the local breweries and restaurants. Check-in was easy and our room was clean and spacious! We brought a box fan with to help with noise cancelling and we slept like babies. We’ll be back!

Simple and comfy. Affordable too! Bathrooms were not always available at convenient times and you can hear everything from other guests but it is a lovely place to stay affordably.

What a great find in Duluth! The bed was comfortable, the bathrooms were clean, the shower water was hot, and the kitchen area was appreciated. The staff were so kind and helpful! I enjoyed the bar, gift shop, and outdoors focused ambiance. The only downside was that I could hear my neighbors at times, but for the price and value it wasn't a big deal. I'll be back!

Basecamp was great, clean, and easy to find. Within walking distance to restaurants and breweries. Went to the Bar that was downstairs. Very happy that there were NA options. The staff was super helpful. The only complaint that I had was the boards at the top of each wall in the rooms filter light through; I usually sleep in total darkness. The complaint my kid had was that you can really hear your neighbors. Otherwise, we loved it and will be back!

This is perfect for someone needing only a place to sleep! The room was decent sized. The living area was nice as well, no tv’s anywhere but there are games which I enjoyed. The rooms are connected up at the top so you WILL hear the person next to you snoring. However I put my white noise on my phone and fell asleep instantly. Ear plugs are provided as well. Super clean place, recommend checking out altitude!

I liked the hostel setup. Private room, individual bathroom/showers. Not at all like a college dorm, for instance. But more interesting than a chain motel. Good restaurants as well as fast food and gas stations within a block’s walking. Sweet cozy cocktail bar downstairs.

I thought the property was very nice, comfortable, and everyone was very nice! Truly, my only complaint is that you can hear EVERYTHING in the rooms, even from other guests down the hall. Most of the time, the noise level was okay, but there were some very inebriated and boisterous guests up all night during our stay who made it impossible to get any sleep. Other than the noise, the stay was great!

Waited 2 hours for check-in, and the "private" room was only separated from another by a slat wall with open air. Immediately heard someone vomiting followed by another couple engaged in sex acts within 5 minutes of accessing the room around 6:30pm, barely any separation from them and immediately left. Have been denied a refund. Will never book at Basecamp again.

A Must Experience! You won't be disappointed.

Zenith Basecamp is one of the most intelligently designed and built hostels I've ever stayed in. I've been traveling the entire world extensively since 1993, and stayed in many hostels. I took my daughter there for her 6th birthday recently, as a launch pad for hiking and rockhounding in the North Shore. The thought that went into this place + the build quality can't be understated according me. Whoever built this place is cool as all get out and very thoughtful. The value for the price is unrivaled in the area, assuming you like hostels environments. This place designed to attract cool and thoughtful people, and it does.

Trendy and beautiful, not practical for everyone.

This is a beautiful new hostel. Please don't expect a hotel. The amenities are super trendy and new, but basic. Ok for the price but not great. While the rooms are separate, there is a lot of shared space and absolutely no soundproofing, as you should expect from a hostel. This is a great space for young outdoorsy types or travelers. I would not recommend this place for kids, and especially not babies. Bring earplugs!

Very modern and loved the amenities! Especially the individual restrooms and showers, the kitchen, with usable cups and a coffee machine (tho there were no coffee pots), and the fridges! I just did not like that the room’s were not completely isolated from each other, so we could hear our neighbors cut their nails, talk, and kiss. It was a bit invasive!

Fun property. No need to talk to anyone which is interesting. Did not realize that the ceilings had gaps between the rooms and fear I was loud at night! Very clean. Minimal furnishings but comfortable. The common areas were very nice. Parking was confusing. Walking from lot to hostel felt a little creepy late at night.
