"This hotel is very well situated, the parking is a bonus and the views from the restaurant are stunning. The food was well cooked and the waiting staff were very friendly and helpful. We appreciated the age of the building and the reason why there was no lift but we struggled somewhat to lug two suitcases up to the top floor as our room was in the converted attic. The view from the room was great and the room itself was spacious, it could have benefited from a fridge and some of the roller...

"Room was shabby, furniture scratched and well-worn. Bathroom icy cold. However, on bringing these points to the attention of the staff, a heater was delivered - thank you. Obviously there was no quick solution to the shabbiness of the room (suite 2 Manor House).
Some of the food was poor, but again on raising this, staff dealt with it.
On balance, we feel the staff did what they could to manage our concerns."

"Accessible room. We love the spacious room with a fridge (so useful for some medication). The room was clean and stocked with basic tea, coffee and milk. The bed is a double. We would prefer a king-size but there would be less space around the bed. The mattress was very soft and not supportive. It was awkward, as people with reduced mobility, to sit on the side of the bed...my partner slid off. Also the bedside tables are tiny. "Friendly and helpful staff throughout the stay, from reception to brasserie to bar staff. The food prepared for the wake was delicious, and very welcome after the service at the nearby crematorium. Didn't try the breakfast as had to rush off for another appointment, but if it is anything like lunch the previous day, it would have been lovely"

"The bathroom was in a poor start of repair. The side bath panel was water damaged and obviously been treated and then left Showing further damage and falling apart.
The bathroom mirror required changing with various black marks across it.
The thermostatic controls were really stiff and couldn’t be fully used for both hot and cold. The markings for hot and cold faded and difficult to establish which way to turn.
