"The staff were friendly and helpful. The choice for an evening meal was varied and reasonably priced. The chicken fajitas were excellent. The breakfast was also good value. The Inn is perfectly located for those visiting the Ythan Estuary for bird and/or seal watching. Will stay again when in the area."

"Stayed in the apartment at the rear of the property. What a great self contained area this was. Room was spotless and very well maintained. All staff from check in, bar and at breakfast were exceptional. Breakfast was included and was great and they are happy to adjust anything on the menu to suit. We had our dog with us and she was most welcome in the hotel too for a £10 a night supplement."

"Best kept secret in Scotland. Karolyn and Chris were fantastic hosts. We spent 1 night here but wish we had spent the other 9 nights here as well. Beautiful property and most comfortable bedding I’ve had outside my own home (including 4-star hotels). The breakfast was 5-star worthy. Worth the lodging price alone!! I told them they should charge more - I will figure out how to tip them…"

"Perfect place to stay with a dog. The mattress could do with an upgrade but otherwise very comfortable although there was an overwhelming smell of cleaning products in the accommodation. Food is excellent. "

"What a great host Angela was. We felt welcomed from the time we arrived. Our room was very clean and everything that was promised. The cliff trail was stunning and most needed after a long drive. The only issue I had was a lack of hot water when I showered. However, after breakfast it was fine."

"We love this hotel! We were there two years ago and wanted to return to see if it still was as exceptional as we originally thought. And it was! The dinner in the restaurant was wonderful and the complimentary breakfast was top notch. The property is lovingly maintained by the nicest couple. They are working hard to get their outdoor eating area ready for the season!"

"Saplinbrae is in a lovely quiet area. The staff were very friendly and the room and food were excellent. There is a nice walking area behind the hotel which is very picturesque and peaceful."

"Car parking is charged at £5 a day even though in the rooms weekend parking is free. Reception stated it was out of date. Didn’t bother finding what else was out of date! Otherwise seemed ok"

"Great hotel, 10 mins walk from the airport terminal. Dinner was excellent and breakfast decent. And if you want a change foodwise there is Dyce Farm 5 mins walk away. Room was lovely as were the staff. What's not to like! Thankyou to all the staff!"
