"Beautiful property, well maintained and peaceful grounds to relax in. Excellent breakfast, items were fresh and delicious. My only complaint is that there was a slight musty odor and no hair dryer in the room. Otherwise I would definitely stay here again."

"If you’re driving watch out the hotel is easy to miss, it’s on your right hand side as you go up the steep narrow street. If possible turn into the side road just before the hotel and park near the junction. The hotel car park is not far from there. Lovely quiet situation but not far from the town centre. Nice room with comfortable bed. The staff are friendly and helpful."

Please note that the only way to get there is by car and the most convenient option is to take advantage of the dinner offered. "Great location, We kept it as a base to move south and north. Very nice hotel. Staff were amazing. Breakfast was great, Parking inside the hotel had issues as the beams very close but that is a structural issue how it was made. Liked the hotel over all"

"Great place. We had a spacious suite with a nice river view. Close to a river walk which takes you all the way to the 1st big lock on the Douro. Breakfast came in a box to your room every morning with fresh bread, pastries, cheese, ham, orange juice & coffee. Kitchen was also well equipped. We would definitely stay there again."

"This hotel is located right on the Douro, in a picturesque spot. There's a parking area right outside. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The hotel claims to be four star; it may have been once but it no longer is. The rooms are spartan. A 20" tv from the 2000s. No amenities whatsoever in the bathroom, which had a broken wall shower and between one and three lights randomly working, depending on I know what. I had to move furniture to find the only single wall outlet close to the bed....
