The Grand Hotel

"We arrived at the Grand ,the check in went smoothly and the staff was very pleasant and helpful. Our room was very clean , and had a sea view. We didn't use the pool but it looked very inviting. We had breakfast and a evening meal which was absolutely delicious, could not fault anything . The location was great with beautiful views of the bay . We will definitely stay here again , we highly recommend The Grand Hotel ."

"This hotel is quite old and has supports on some of the outside walls but the room and facilities are really good. Our room was an older style but with that we had lots more space than in other hotel rooms with a large bathroom and a balcony with a sea view. Everything worked well. Staff were very helpful and showed us the spa and even came to the outdoor pool to check we found it ok and move a sun bed in to the shade for us. We chose to eat here even though the menu was very limited to 4/5 choices. I had lasagne and my husband pizza which were both cooked well and reasonably priced. Drinks were also reasonably priced with friendly service. The spa facilities were great-all clean and working well and plenty of other activities such as putting, croquet, tennis and board games. Only a 5/10 minute walk through the grounds to the beach. We enjoyed our stay so much that we wished we had booked more nights here. The hotel was the cheapest we stayed in during our 2 week trip but probably the best overall."

"The hotel location is excellent for access to town and beach. Not the hotels fault but the parking situation around the beach access areas are not good. Even finding a place is virtually impossible and if you do you are restricted to 3 hrs max."

"My room was great. Comfortable bed, excellent bathroom, and the coffee sachets in the room were the best I've ever tasted. The location is so central to all I wanted to visit. All this in a 600 year old place is something special. Highly recommend."

"The weather was amazing. Couldn’t get over how clean the room was. Lovely walk in shower All non slip floors. The most comfortable bed we have ever slept in whilst being away. Also sea view made it perfect. Good choice of breakfast hot or cold All in all we would not hesitate to recommend or stay again ourselves!"

"Would be better if there was air conditioning in the rooms. They do offer a fan if needed though. We also asked for a kettle in our room which was much better than walking down the corridor in my night dress to get a drink from the drinks station in the corridor. Over all..more than happy to stay again."

"As soon as you walk through the door you are greeted with a friendly smile and a can do attitude. The rooms are lovely and clean and everything you would expect to find is there - even an ironing board. Breakfast was good with a varied selection of cereals, fruit and cooked items available. No drama. The Exeter Holiday inn express gets my 10 out of 10"
