"On the whole it was a very enjoyable birthday weekend for myself and my wife. One small comment to make is on the Saturday night we opted for the buffet as opposed to the à la carte. The choice and quality weren’t the best but ok, only then to find out when the time came to pay that the costs were the same for the buffet as they were for the à la carte! Bit naughty really. "

"We booked a last-minute 2-night stay at Heythrop Hotel & Spa in mid-April for a birthday, with a great deal including breakfast, dinner, and wine. The estate is beautiful and peaceful, with an impressive manor setting. Check-in was smooth, though parking can be a long walk—use the drop-off if needed. Our quiet North Wing room was comfortable, slightly warm but with opening windows, a nice bathroom, and handy night lighting. Facilities were excellent—we used the pool, hot tub, and steam room...

"Didn't get my cide to get into property had to call hotels.com. The stairs are very awkward with small children. Heating Didn't work correctly gor first three days. Kitchen needs more cutlery ( knife & spoon). "

"We enjoyed our stay overall, there’s a decent pub 2 mins away. Some basic items missing, garden furniture needs renovation, the upper stairs are precarious, use caution, one of our guests had a nasty fall. "

"I would not recommend this property which I will explain below. When you arrive at the property you go through a corridor to a courtyard that has 4 rooms. The courtyard was nice but unfortunately it is all gravel which makes pulling suitcases difficult. The twin room is called the Hobbit Hole and it truly is. This is a room about the size of a walk in closet with a bed squeezed in horizontally and one vertically, neither bed has room for a night stand or lamp. There is a small desk between the...

"Upon arrival we were given a room beside the elevator and main door to the floor. The room smelled and the door from the elevator area would bang every time someone came through. We asked for another room and the less than pleasant staff member did give us a new room which we were appreciative of until we walked in. The overpowering smell of chemical cleaner was intense. "Lovely room, pub delightful, staff very accommodating , breakfast lovely and if wanted could have fully cooked but continental breakfast more than adequate. Enjoyed our lovely time there."
