"Situated near the station and at the top of the main drag, this hotel is in dire need of some tlc. They do appear to have a programme of renovations in hand, but our corner room had several cracked window panes and dated furnishings. The sink does not have a mixer tap, and the hot water is scalding, while there is almost no water pressure for the shower. "Clean rooms with everything you would expect in most hotels. Complimentary water in the room was welcomed especially as we stayed when temperatures were higher. Only upgrade that would be helpful is air-conditioning although we were lucky we had a cross draught with the window and balcony doors which helped hugely. "Room was clean, although I was put into a room in an annex that didn't look like the one in the photo. Some of the staff were very nice, but one was not friendly or accommodating, at all. For example, arriving after a 14-hour journey, I was not allowed to check into my room 30 minutes early. I had to wait in the lounge with all my luggage until the clock struck 3!"

"Two criticisms of the bathroom. The soap and shampoo bottles were unreachable when I was having a bath. Far too high, only useful for a shower or at the basin. Also the non slip patches in the bath were very uncomfortable to sit on. Did the designer of the bath ever try to take a bath??"
