Spark took over a best western. They’ve revamped the place. Clean, new but a basic stay. Nothing fancy but updated and clean

We have stayed in many other hotels in the area while visiting West Point. This was a great disappointment. Upon arrival the staff at the front desk did not great us, he did not appear to know how to check in a guest, was not familiar with our reservation. He said it was due to a new management company conversion. The breakfast was sparce and extremely limited, cereal, bagels and hard boiled eggs. There was mold in the one ice machine for the building. The room was clean and looked to be recently updated, while the halls and common areas were dingy and held a significant smell. The one elevator was quick, but very small. I could not fit the luggage cart and my two kids in the elevator with me. The two female staff that were there at the front desk on our last two nights were delightful with wonderful recommendations for dinner. Perhaps it is a work in progress, and if so a notice or even a sign stating such would make up for what appears to be a lack of attention to detail.

The room was nice, very clean and great staff. Though the room’s heat at night for some reason would go up to 75 degrees after we set it to 68. This happened both nights. Also breakfast could have some more variety but overall a nice place to stay.

Room was clean and staff was competent. We were able to get a late check-out so that is always nice. The included breakfast is very simple but there was coffee and tea available all day in the lobby.

We reserved a king suite and they gave us a king room. They said there was only one king suite and another couple checked in before we did so they got it. When asked if we could be compensated, they said no and blamed third party booking for over booking the reservation and charging too little for the suite. Additionally, the room description said there was a coffee maker and microwave; there was not. The shower only had body wash and shampoo, but no conditioner.

The room was exceptionally clean, this was just recently remodeled to become a Hilton hotel. There’s still some minor updates being done but overall the daytime employees were very nice, and the breakfast was decent compared to the hotel prices across the street. I suggest that they give folks more water than two bottles with no access at breakfast. Otherwise, a nice stay!
