"Location Location Location The guesthouse was a wonderful location to access the hiking trail to the glacier. We stayed in one of the two-unit bunk houses. The room was small but we enjoyed it. Despite the howling winds, we were cozy. Our main goal was to hike to the glacier. We were provided with a great breakfast for hiking. "The area is beautiful! The hotel is in a very private treed area overlooking a lake. There are lots of birds. We enjoyed the hot tub overlooking the lake. The rooms are modern. Ours did not face the lake and guests could walk by and look into the room if the curtains were not closed. The restaurant was quite good and so was the included breakfast. "

"We had an excellent stay at the Hotel Jokulsarlon. Sadly, the country was in a major weather alert situation so the views you would typically see were not visible. Despite this, we were able to still do a Glacier Lagoon boat tour and enjoy the hotels outdoor hot tubs. We also enjoyed a wonderful meal at the restaurant. On check-out day, the sun came out and we did get to see what the normal setting is and it truly is spectacular. The rooms are super nice and they provide slippers and robes...

"We arrived around 8 and they were very helpful with dining options outside of the hotel but we ended up eating there, which was an amazing choice! The service was excellent, the food was delicious. We spoke with a worker for almost an hour after the restaurant should have closed and got many suggestions on where to go on our trip and lots of information about Iceland. Wonderful stay! "

"Ekra Glacier Lagoon was a really nice place for us to stay near Jökulsárlón and Diamond Beach. The setting was gorgeous with a bunch of waterfalls right behind our room! It's set back away from the road, so it was very quiet and peaceful. The bed was super comfortable and had firm and soft pillows to choose from. The room was clean and had a mini fridge, kettle, french press, with coffee, tea, sugar and creamer. I would definitely stay here again the next time I visit the South Coast of Iceland....
