Hotel Abaco is quirky, charming and authentic. It was very convenient for us to walk around Florence, and is very close to lots of restaurants, cafes, museums, and wonderful small shops. In fact, for a busy few days as a tourist in Florence it could not be better. OK - it's old, and you have to climb 55 stone stairs to it (it's on the 2nd floor) but it would not be authentic otherwise. La Signora who runs it was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed visiting!

Organizamos un tour por nuestra cuenta por algunas ciudades de Italia. Y puedo decir que lo único malo que nos sucedió, fue haber reservado este hotel. Al llegar, subimos con nuestras maletas, como 3 o 4 pisos para encontrar el hotel, aún así estábamos felices de haber llegado, nos recibió un señor bastante incomodo diciendo que no entendía como habíamos encontrado habitación en el hotel por ese precio, (pagamos cerca de 45 euros) un lunes 15 de enero. No entendimos, ya que fue el precio que nos proporcionó la pagina, en la promoción incluía desayuno para dos personas, nosotras en ningún momento hicimos una solicitud especial para conseguir ese precio. Lo dejamos pasar y no respondimos nada, solo sonreímos y seguimos con nuestro itinerario, nuestra habitación era realmente pequeña con dos camas de una plaza cada una y un lavadero, el baño estaba afuera de la habitación en un pasadizo distinto. Jamás nos quejamos de los hoteles porque no esperamos nada extraordinario de ellos, solo un lugar cómodo para descansar, ya que al hacer turismo, solo usamos el hotel para dormir. A la mañana siguiente me acerque a recepción para preguntar por el desayuno, (cuándo busco hoteles activo siempre la opción de desayuno incluido y en la promoción que compré venía incluido) Sin embargo, la señora me miró de manera desagradable y me dijo que el desayuno no estaba incluido por el precio que yo pagué, le sonreí y le dije que no había problema, inmediatamente nos fuimos. Pésimo trato al cliente.

Un albergo ottimo
A lovely place to stay, close to everything in a lovely old building. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The children in particular LOVED the breakfast ( especially the Nutella). Grazie mille! We would love to go back.

Surprised that Expedia had a “good” rating for this hotel, which is not justified. I have trust deficit with Expedia’s rating after my experience at this property. The property is old and has no lift. Guests have to carry their luggage up two floors, and there was no warning given for this by Expedia in its description of the property. Customer service was very poor. We had breakfast with our booking, but there was no place to sit and eat - hence had no breakfast. Also staff refused to provide hot water requested for tea before breakfast was open to be served. Uncomfortable and vey small toilet space - again something not highlighted by Expedia. I would rate the property as a hostel for students - not a hotel.

Faisal, Faisal please know that lies have short legs. It's not our fault if you can't read on expedia, where it clearly states that being one of the oldest buildings in Florence we have no lift. It is not our fault if you arrive at the last moment and pretend to have breakfast passing in front of everyone. Where is the politeness? If the hotel sucked so much, why did you stay? Next time if you want a five-star service don't be stingy, spend and go to a four-star However we are very very happy not to have been to your taste, we are in fact for many but not for all and we are fine with that. Ah one last thing since you gave a judgement on us, allow us to give a judgement on you, for us our rating is 0 and why a negative rating can't be put and then for Christian charity we wouldn't have done itThe property

Bom para o que se propõe. Cama confortável, decoração pitoresca, banheiro pequeno, mas funcional. Tem que subir dois lances de escadas então se estiver com malas pesadas pode ser um desafio! Os recepcionistas só falam italiano, mas são bem simpáticos.

The owner was very nice and accommodating. They let us keep our bags there before and after checkout. The room was cute and perfect for two people. We had our own bathroom.

We enjoyed being in the centre of Florence and when we stepped out of the hotel, we could see the Duomo. We liked staying in a period hotel. There are a lot of steps but that didn't bother us. Please note the hotel is within the restricted traffic zone so if arriving by car, park for 1 hour in the parking opposite the bus station which costs E4 and walk to the hotel (under 10 mins) to offload luggage, then go and repark outside the city. The nearest unlimited parking was 2.5 miles away in the Bobbini area. Probably best to use public transport.

Great location, not so great bathroom.
The location of the hotel is great but the actual room a letdown. The room (in this case Botticelli) was ok sized with one double and one single bed and a private bathroom. Maybe because of the rather quirky the room at first felt bit dirty and run down but after the first night we were handling it ok. The main problem is the bathroom which is tiny. I do not understand the obsession to install a bidet to already too small bathroom, it would make more sense to make the shower bigger. Also, the towels were of the thinnest possible material, quite useless for drying your hair. The sink is miniature sized and bathroom shelf wonky. AC is hard to adjust to a desired level, it is either too cold or not cold enough. There is no elevator in the hotel building and you need to climb steep stairs to reach the reception. The reception is unmanned after maybe 20:00 in the evening so if you are planning to check-in after hours it is better to contact the management beforehand for arrangements. As mentioned the hotel is superbly located: About 7 minutes walk to SMN train station, 5 to Duomo, maybe 10 to Ponte Vecchio. The location is basically bordering the old town with lots of restaurants and shopping nearby.

O hotel é tudo o que se pode esperar de um hotel de 1 estrela, ou seja, quase nada. Não traga malas, pois vc terá que subir com elas por vários metros escada acima. Não espere internet tb, pois não funciona.

Super convenient location, very clean room
It was very clean and the staff are super friendly. The room is a typical small European room. Only a 2 minute walk to Duomo. There isn’t any parking. But they have a valet service that will pick up and drop off your car for € 25 a day. We walked to everything from this hotel. It is in a super convenient location!!

Close to station, easy to find, safe and clean
Great service and close to everything. We had a late arrival after the front desk would be closed, due to our flight being delayed, I called to let them know and they were very accommodating to leave the key with the neighbouring hotel. The street in front is very busy and noisy and there is single glazed windows so bring ear plugs. Room as described. Clean. Adorable historic decor

Très bien placé
Hôtel très bien placé, au bout de la rue la cathédrale donc génial. A part ça. ... plus de 50 marches d'escaliers sans ascenseur pour accéder à l'étage de l'hôtel, personne de l'hôtel pour nous accueillir . C'est une dame d'un autre hôtel qui nous ouvre et nous donne la clef de la chambre. Chambre style à l'ancienne, petite, avec des fenêtres doubles qui ne se ferment pas. Sdb minuscule (wc quasiment sous la douche) et dangereuse car très glissante qd on se douche. Climatisation qui fonctionne bien.

Just take the breakfast. Many stairs. Comfortable
This was a cute hotel, and that is why I picked it. Very close to train station and in the middle of everything you want to be near. I didn’t know (and was shocked) that it is on the 3rd floor of a very large building. You have to walk up 7 half flights of stairs. It’s a lot of work. However, it seems all of the hotels are that way. There is no elevator so if you need one, look for a larger hotel that has one. One bed was very comfy and one bed consisted of 2 cots and was difficult to sleep in. It’s hit or miss. Very cute rooms, fun bathrooms, AC that works, WiFi, great view. If you don’t want to be up for breakfast (crossaints) 8-10am, tell them or some lady will knock on your door to wake you up. No cappuccino after 9:30. Owner (very nice man) allowed us to check in hours early which was very helpful. You will have a wonderful stay if you accept your breakfast.

Albergo in ottima posizione ma non adatto a chi ha difficoltà a fare le scale in quanto è situato al 2° piano e non è disponibile l'ascensore, inoltre non è consigliabile a chi ha una corporatura robusta in quanto il bagno è minuscolo, la sua grandezza è simile a quella di una doccia 1,50 mt x 1,00 mt circa. La colazione è ottima ma solo con dolci.

Great service
The owner was especially helpful to me. I parked outside the city wall as the city streets are limited to residents. On check in, he told me I could park in a designated place in the city but I was tired and confused by the map and directions. So he offered to go to my car and ride along. When we parked in front of the hotel to drop our bags, he insisted on carrying our luggage. Then he got back in the car and helped me find the right parking area. He had lots of recommendations for dinner too. So friendly and welcoming. The breakfast is in a very cute cafe just a few doors down. Nice breakfast and beautiful view of the countryside.

My friend and I stayed here one night and had a great stay. It's only a one minute walk from the duomo and closeby to everything in Florence. The staff was very helpful allowing us to leave our bags here for the day after we checked out. Would definitely stay again when I'm back to Florence!

Hotel Abaco
The hotel is in a great location, close to the train station and many of the tourist sites. We stayed in the room with two twin beds. We had our own bathroom, but it was not in the room itself, but rather across the hall. It ended up ok for us as the hotel is small so we almost never saw anyone when we went to the bathroom, but still it required being appropriately dressed to do so. The beds were also a little narrower than normal twin beds, which was fine for us but would've been tricky for someone larger. The air conditioning worked great. The wifi was not very good, but we rarely had good wifi in Italy. Breakfast was only bread products, juice and coffee, but the croissants were delicious and the plain black coffee extremely good as well. The woman who greeted us and serves the breakfast speaks only limited English, but we managed to communicate. Overall, for a clean and comfortable place to stay in a great location, I would highly recommend it.

Excellent location
We stayed in this hotel for overnight. The location is great, very close to the train station and the big famous church. The owner is very friendly. We checked in around 11:00am which is very helpful otherwise we have to carry the lugguage with us. The room we stayed is comfortable. The only thing I have to remind you is that, the sign 'Hotel Abaco' for this hotel is on the wall, very small and you may need some time to find it.

In pieno centro, perfetto per i giovani.
L'hotel è in una struttura d'epoca, in pieno centro a due passi dal Duomo, posizione molto strategica ma non c'è ascensore, quindi va bene per i giovani e chi non ha problemi motori. I titolari sono cortesi e simpatici, la stanza era sempre pulita e ci hanno cambiato gli asciugamani ogni giorno. Ottime le doppie finestre sia contro il rumore che contro il freddo. Meno gradito il fatto che non ci fossero termosifoni ma il convettore d'aria calda... non praticissimo onestamente! (se arrivi, fa freddo e devi scaldare...ci mette un po'!) Mancava anche il piatto doccia... e il bagno è piccolo (fortunatamente la pendenza del pavimento permette di non allagare tutto) quindi ottimo se siete giovani..un po' meno per le coppie mature che cercano confort al 100%. La colazione è standard. Noi ci siamo trovati bene!

Qualquer avaliação que se pudesse fazer do hotel, boa ou ruim, para mim não faria a menor diferença: se eu soubesse como é a escada que lhe dá acesso, não me hospedaria nem recomendaria a ninguém. Localizado em um prédio, segundo informação, do século XVI, eu sabia que não tinha elevador, mas não podia imaginar que a escada que lhe dá acesso fosse como é: estreita, vai rodando quase como um caracol, vencendo 3 andares de pé direito alto, degraus estreitos e altos.. As acomodações são originais mas extremamente simples assim como o café da manhã. Para completar, uma senhora de manhã na recepção bem grosseira. Os poucos aspectos bons, não são compensados pelos muitos ruins. Não justifica o preço cobrado pela diária, péssima relação custo/beneficio.Resumindo: FUJA DESSE HOTEL
