"Good location and not far from downtown Newport. We appreciated the free shuttle that went between the hotel and downtown. The hotel was very clean, the beds were very comfortable, the staff were friendly and helpful, the parking is free, and there is a nice patio and bonfire area. We would definitely stay there again!"

"This is a three star hotel that should be a best, a two star. On the surface it seems to have all the bells and whistles, however the general feel is that is is old and tired, and needs a really good scrub. Carpets that have seen better days, dust on air vents. The breakfast amenity is overpriced (pay per item( pre packaged gas station type food like breakfast sandwiches, juices and yogurt, seems not very popular with guests. Pros, the area we had our room was very quiet."

"We recently stayed at The Carriage House and had a very nice experience. There was a concern with our first room door, but the gentleman at the front desk handled it immediately and could not have been more professional, kind, and apologetic. He moved us to a new room right away, which was perfect. The continental breakfast was very nice, the staff were pleasant, and the main area was beautifully decorated. The location was also very convenient, close to the beach, restaurants, museums, and...

"There were 5 of us. We could have used another bathroom. Not enough towels or toilet paper. While the staff was exceptional and the lobby and dining room was very clean and nice, I wouldn’t stay here again if I came with more than 2 people because of the bathroom situation."

"hardwood floor was gritty, seemed to be swept rather than vacuumed or mopped. bathroom toilet had a loose seat and the toilet fixture was in an odd position relative to the walls(crooked, not square to the walls). the tub had patches of caulking, and the sink was draining slowly) this particular room had a second door to the interior hallway which was not capable to be locked to the lockset."
